We were picked up as scheduled, had a relaxed and comfortable ride. Tony drove and Gilbert was the guide, both are very friendly, knowledgeable about the history and anecdotes and curiosities of the area. The area has expansive views, and beautiful sites. In Virginia City we saw the beautiful church, the entry to a mine, walked the streets and visited the Silver Queen, the Bucket of Blood saloons, the many shops. Gilbert pointed out the back doors (used by the reputable men to visit the “lady friends “) . Walking around was like being in a western movie! Definitely a must see

Virginia City Wild West was our second tour with Reno Outdoors. After the wonderful Lake Tahoe experience, we were so impressed that we immediately asked Tony to book us for this tour the following day. It was also a private tour, and once again we enjoyed insightful commentary along the way. Tony’s knowledge of the area’s history, combined with his friendly and engaging style, made the tour memorable, and we highly recommend him to anyone visiting Reno. If there are other tours departing from Reno, we would love to experience them with Tony as well.

It was great that we got picked up at hotel. And our driver was tells about the and it history. The tour was excellent we would do it again the next time we are in town

Picked up at hotel as scheduled. The van was clean and comfortable. The drive was good with the guide providing a history of Reno and Virginia City. Once at Virginia City, we drove around the city while the guide discussed key sites. We then walked downtown with the guide. This was where I didn't like the tour. There was no time to shop, sit, or look around. We were given 30 minutes to eat/on your own time. It would have been better to let us walk on our own. The drive back was uneventful. The guide and driver were courteous and professional.

Guests are always welcome to step into shops and browse during the tour. As with lunch breaks, if you’d like additional free time for shopping or exploring on your own, simply let your guide know and we’ll be happy to accommodate whenever possible. Sometimes, when guests are enjoying the stories and stops along the route, the walking tour runs longer than planned, which can reduce the remaining free time. Our guide was very informative, the ride was a little tough if you have a weak stomach due to all the turns

The transportation was a Mercedes sprinter van. Very nice and clean. The driver was great and on time. The guide Marcus was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Virginia city as well as talking about some of the local Reno area. If you like mining, old west, and Mark Twain this tour is for you! We walked around town just beware of uneven surfaces as most of the town is old. The tour is very flexible so just ask and they will be happy to accommodate. They had snacks and waters provided, but you can grab something to eat or shop. You have to get some fudge at grandmas fudge factory and maybe a drink at the bucket of blood saloon.

Absolutely one of the best tours. There were 2 us. Our driver, Kalmar, was fantastic, kind and caring and knowledgeable. Our guide JP made the tour come alive. He introduced us to people he knew in town and great stories. We got an insiders tour. This is a must do while in Reno.
