Kompong Kleang è uno dei villaggi galleggianti sul lago Tonle Sap. Il lago Tonle Sap è il più grande lago d'acqua dolce del sud-est asiatico. Nella stagione secca il lago contiene 2700 km2. Nella stagione delle piogge le dimensioni del lago aumentano solo 3 volte rispetto alla stagione secca. ci sono più di 200 spezie di pesce. Ha un collegamento molto spaziale con il fiume Mekong durante la stagione delle piogge ed è un serbatoio per ripristinare l'acqua dal fiume Mekong. Ci sono 5 province intorno al lago, Siem Reap, Battambong, Pusat, Kompong Chhnang e Kompong Thom. tutte queste 5 province hanno un ottimo potenziale per la coltivazione del riso perché la principale fonte d'acqua proviene dal lago. Nella stagione delle piogge puoi viaggiare in barca fino alla capitale Phnom Penh.

Fantastic morning spent visiting the Kompong Kleang floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake. Excellent service provided by Ra and his friend our driver. Ra is a fantastic tour guide. His English is very good and fluent. Touring with him is a history lesson in itself. He has vast knowledge of not only the Temples, but Siem Reap and surrounding areas. The beauty of touring with him is the hidden gems, where locals hang out, he will take you to. The van is large, clean and I always feel safe! The Floating Hut Restaurant is so relaxing after a visit to Kulen Mountain so, make sure to stop! Speaking of stopping, when or if you see something of interest, he will pull over so you can shop, taste local street food and find new off the beaten track delights.
