Concerto classico di Vienna alla Casa della Musica : Mozart & Strauss

After much research into which classical concert to book for my family while in Vienna, I am very pleased with my choice! We attended last night Sunday 8/16 performance. I'm not very knowledgeable about classical music and found this string quartet extremely accessible. I loved being in an intimate setting and having the cellist introduce each piece with a bit of information and humor. I found one hour to be just the right length. The more knoweldgeable and discerning musicians in my family also felt that this was a high quality performance. The venue was comfortably air-conditioned which was an important part of my choice to do this rather than a concert in a church. We would have liked to have the program further in advance but that is not they way they operate. They did send it to us at 7PM, on the day of the concert. I'll post here as a sample in case that is helpful to people, though the specific musicians and program varies I believe. This concert was beautiful. The musicians are so talented. They played many songs that people would recognize and it’s only an hour so it leaves you wanting more. So happy we did this.

A remarkable quartet of highly skilled musicians performs a selection of cherished classical melodies from various composers, evoking the essence of Vienna. Their performance is both interactive and engaging. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

A wonderful concert and great musicians!

Look, when you're in Vienna you have to see a classical music concert at least once. We chose this at the last minute and didn't know what to expect from the House of Music. Category A vs B depends how close you want to be. Category A puts you in the first 2 rows in a room of 75-100 people. The stage reminds me of high school - one step away from the performers. Our quartet nailed 10 songs, half of which I was familiar with and the other half I thoroughly enjoyed. Great opportunity to hear wonderful music in an intimate setting over an hour. Would do it again.

Excellent. Absolutely fabulous musicianship. Our 2 teenagers were mesmerised and both thoroughly enjoyed it. The chat between the pieces kept the tone fun and relaxed. The Ladies of the String Quartet really seemed to be enjoying playing together. 1 hour covering some of the well known classics. Thank you Johanna. Only negative, don’t bother paying extra for Category A tickets.
