Alle 8:00 una guida turistica esperta verrà a prenderti dal tuo hotel ad Assuan e guiderà a sud di Assuan, che dista circa 3 ore di auto per goderti il tour di un giorno ad Abu Simbel da Assuan con un veicolo con aria condizionata. I due templi di Abu Simbel, con il loro stile unico, sono considerati i capolavori dell'antico Egitto. Riflettono la gloria e la grandezza del nuovo Regno. Il Tempio di Ramses II era dedicato ai quattro dei universali Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amon-Ra e allo stesso Ramesse II. Il grande tempio di Abu Simbel è anche chiamato Il Tempio del Sole di Ramses II. Il Tempio della Regina Nefertari è anche chiamato Tempio di Hathor che era la moglie del Dio Sole quindi in modo simbolico, i due Templi, quello di Ramesse II e quello di Nefertari, riunisci Ramesse II, Nefertari, Hathor e il Dio Sole come uno.
Nefertari, nota anche come Nefertari Meritmut, era una regina egiziana e la prima delle grandi mogli reali (o mogli principali) di Ramesse il Grande.[1] Nefertari significa 'bella compagna' e Meritmut significa 'Amato di [la dea] Mut'. È una delle regine egiziane più conosciute, tra donne come Cleopatra, Nefertiti e Hatshepsut, e una delle più importanti non conosciute o che si pensa abbia regnato a pieno titolo. Era molto istruita e capace sia di leggere che di scrivere geroglifici, un'abilità molto rara all'epoca. Ha usato queste abilità nel suo lavoro diplomatico, in corrispondenza con altri importanti reali dell'epoca. La sua tomba riccamente decorata, QV66, è una delle più grandi e spettacolari della Valle delle Regine. Ramesse le costruì anche un tempio ad Abu Simbel accanto al suo colossale monumento lì.
Ramesse II variamente scriveva anche Ramses o Ramses, 'Ra è colui che lo partorì' o 'nato da Ra', Koinē greco: Ῥαμέσσης, romanizzato: Rhaméssēs, c. 1303 aC - luglio o agosto 1213; regnò dal 1279 al 1213 a.C.[7]), noto anche come Ramesse il Grande, fu il terzo faraone della XIX dinastia egizia. È spesso considerato il più grande, il più celebrato e il più potente faraone del Nuovo Regno, a sua volta il periodo più potente dell'Antico Egitto.[8] I suoi successori e successivamente gli egiziani lo chiamarono il "Grande Antenato".

the driver arrived exactly on time. Everything went smoothly. They were polite professional and friendly
Easy to book. The mini van was very clean and comfortable, which was important as it was 6 hour round trip. There were 2 drivers, so one drove on the outbound journey the other drove on the return journey. We also stopped for a toilet break both ways. Drivers were very nice. Guide at Abu Simbel was very knowledgeable. We had lunch in a local restaurant before our return journey, food was good. Overall a very good experience, the long journey was worth the visit as Abu Simbel was amazing. Highly recommend the trip with Viator.
As described. Private car picked us up for about 3 hrs drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel. Be sure to ask driver to stop for restroom otherwise the driver will drive straight for 3 hrs. It was an amazing experience to see Abu Simbel. Truly worth the trip and price. Lunch was good as well.
It's a 3 hour drive to Abu Simbel and back. Our driver was very nice. Our guide at our destination gave us plenty of time to explore. Lunch was delicious!
I booked taxi to Abu Simbel for me and my wife in October 2025. Taxi was a sedan - new, clean and comfortable. Arrived on time. My special thanks and praise for our driver Yahsin. He was always careful to watch for what we needed, drove excellently and gave us our space (you start to appreciate this when you’re in Egypt). Can’t recommend him highly enough. We got a guide named Samir (I don’t remember booking a guide with the taxi) in Abu Simbel. We were initially pleasantly surprised as we had thought of hiring one when we got there. He was good with his explanations and knowledge of the history and carvings of the place. That’s where the good bit ends. Firstly he tried to push to buy Lunch which we refused as it was unnecessarily expensive and we weren’t that hungry. Then on our way back at a routine stop that every vehicle makes, he got into the car (not something we had expected) and started off with the pretense of telling us more about Egyptian history. This quickly morphed into trying to sell more tours to Philae and Nubian village, again very overpriced. Maybe its a company strategy and all guides do it but I can only comment on our experience. We understood the tactic and tried to say no, but he wouldn’t let it go. With another 2 hrs left on the journey, he tried again and again until I had to sternly ask him to stop. He then was very insistent on us writing a review before the journey ended. This is common for any tours you book in Egypt but got annoying pretty fast. He constantly messaged us for 3 straight days after the tour ended to write a review texting on WhatsApp at odd times. I get this is Important for their business but there’s a way to go about it. I’d have given it 5 stars if it was just the car and driver but the guide and his constant hassling to buy more things and the unannounced invading our space on the return journey has dropped it to 3.
