Uno dei monumenti più emblematici della città, la Cattedrale di Saint-André ripercorre la storia della città dal Medioevo ai giorni nostri.
Pedalate lungo una delle strade più belle della città. La Grosse Cloche era la porta principale della città nel Medioevo.
Il Pont de Pierre è stato il primo ponte in pietra costruito a Bordeaux. Rappresenta il XIX secolo.
Un percorso tranquillo lungo le rive della Garonna, sulla riva destra. Questo tratto offre una vista ininterrotta del paesaggio storico di Bordeaux, con la Place de la Bourse e la Grosse Cloche in lontananza. Piccolo e discreto villaggio alle porte della regione di Entre-deux-Mers, Bouillac vi immerge nella tranquillità della campagna della Gironda. Qui i vigneti iniziano a modellare il paesaggio, tra siepi e case in pietra bionda.
Situato alle porte della regione di Entre-Deux-Mers, questo incantevole villaggio segna il passaggio tra città e campagna. Percorrerete sentieri tranquilli e vecchie linee ferroviarie, circondati da natura e vigneti. Pedalerete lungo la leggendaria pista ciclabile Roger Lapébie, che si snoda tra boschi e villaggi, offrendo un ambiente tranquillo e sicuro nel cuore della natura. Si può pedalare liberamente, cullati dal canto degli uccelli e dal mormorio delle foglie.
Famoso per il suo passato da ceramista, Sadirac è un villaggio con radici tradizionali. Il suo patrimonio rurale e la sua campagna ondulata offrono un assaggio del terroir che vi aspetta più lontano. Qui, ci godremo un momento gastronomico con un picnic in stile francese, completo di vino e prodotti locali.
Créon, ex città fortificata inglese, è oggi un'accogliente tappa nel cuore della regione di Entre-deux-Mers. Sotto i portici della piazza centrale si possono incontrare ciclisti, produttori locali e gente del posto. Un'atmosfera calda e autentica.
Questo tranquillo villaggio è ricco di storia millenaria. Immerso tra vigneti e foreste, vi guida dolcemente verso un tesoro nascosto del patrimonio della Gironda. Da qui si possono vedere le maestose rovine dell'Abbazia di La Sauve-Majeure, un'abbazia benedettina che domina il paesaggio. Fondata nell'XI secolo, evoca la forza spirituale del Medioevo. Un luogo immerso nel silenzio, nella storia e nella bellezza mistica. Una pausa contemplativa lungo il percorso.
Le viti diventano più fitte, il rilievo più pronunciato: si entra nel mondo del vino. Daignac offre magnifiche viste sulle colline vinicole e sentieri fiancheggiati da bassi muretti a secco.
Nel cuore dei vigneti, Grézillac è un invito a rallentare. Tra aziende vinicole a conduzione familiare e viste mozzafiato sulle valli, l'ambiente è ideale per un picnic di campagna all'ombra delle querce o in una radura.
Avete raggiunto il fiume Dordogna! Branne è un vivace villaggio sul fiume. Qui si sente l'influenza della valle vinicola, con i suoi piccoli negozi, caffè e mercati colorati. Qui attraverserete il Pont de Branne, un ponte metallico che si affaccia sulla Dordogna e offre una vista mozzafiato su entrambe le sponde. Attraversandolo, si passa simbolicamente dalla regione di Entre-deux-Mers alle porte della prestigiosa regione di Saint-Émilionnais.

We had the best day cycling with Edwin from Bordeaux to St Emillion. Edwin was so knowledgeable about the city, region and it's wine and food. He took us on an absolutely beautiful route and he made us a carefully considered, beautiful lunch en route. Edwin kindly took lots of photos and videos along the way so we didn't have to worry about missing a moment of the experience. When we arrived at the vineyard Edwin went above and beyond to translate the tour for us as unfortunately on the day we visited there was not an English speaking tour running. The train ride back to Bordeaux rounded off the perfect day. I can't recommend this trip highly enough. It absolutely made our holiday and we'll never forget it.

This was a great day. Picked the e-Bike up in Bordeaux and was surprised that it was heavier than I expected. But that made no difference, as when you're riding, it's so smooth and feels as light as a feather. We started out cycling around the streets of Bordeaux, with our fabulous guide Edwin showing us several iconic sites. Traffic, pedestrians, and other cyclists made for a busy first hour, but take it slow; motorists, other cyclists and pedestrians are very tolerant and polite, catering for any clumsiness you (well, me) may have initially. I hadn't ridden a bike in years, but all good...you'll be fine! We soon left the traffic and entered a wonderfully serene bikeway. Several kms along the way, a lunch stop, where Edwin magically produced a delicious, rustic picnic, with, of course, a fine bottle of wine (red and white). Continued on another serene bikeway and got to St Emilion, where we toured and tasted some beautiful wines. St Emilion is amazing - full of history, and of course, wine! You'll get the train back to Bordeaux, Edwin will show you where the station is; a short 10 minute walk. A great day with Edwin, who is so accommodating and friendly. I definitely recommend Edwin and Gravel Explore for this day tour.

Such an incredible experience travelling through the French countryside. It’s not about the end but about the journey. Lunch was delicious, and the wine tasting was memorable. Landscapes, conviviality, culture and terroir, everything was there. Edwin was able to share his passion for gravel with us, a good discovery of this activity, accessible to all. A very nice walk in the vineyards with tasting at the castle. The return by train from Saint Emilion was very convenient
