First, that review is not to discourage you to go to Uganda and enjoy the beautiful Country, the Nature and the mostly wonderful people. This is a rewiev about Tubale Safari and Anette. Its been a 6 Month hassle, out of the 7500 USD she owes us, she paid us 3100 USD back. On the beginning of the planning, the Companie seemed to be good. She had good reviews on TripAdvisor, Safari Booking and on the UTB So I don’t know what happened, but I would never book with them again. From the day we arrived, she did not follow up on the offer she made. A few days before arrival I did ask if everything was ok with our trip, since I read a review on trip advisor, that was not so good. She assured me everything is ok. On arrival in Uganda I got a text, asking to pay for the first two Hotels and Lodge, also for the first Tours (Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison NP, Murchison River Cruise) du to some Bank issues that she had. Well, it was not much I could do, so I paid that, since she promised, that after Tuesday, everything ist ok, well it was not. I ended up paying for all the Lodges, except one, again, also for most of the Tours, like the Golden Monkey Tracking and so on. Also for Gas and the Car. The Car got locked twice via tracker from the Owner, since Anette/Tubale Safari did not pay the fees for the vehicle. Our Guide sorted that issue, but because of that we missed an early morning Game Drive. During the whole trip she came up with excuses and blaming everything else. We paid the whole trip before and ended up paying for the lodges, except one and most of the tours again. In the end we had expenses do to paying for Hotels, Lodges, Tours, Car, Gas, Food and missed Tours from 7500 USD, On the last day of our Trip, she came to meet us and promised again to pay the Mones by March the 5t. 2026, Until today I received 100 USD. So yea, I would not trust her and the Company for a Trip to Uganda. It might be ok for the next few Tours, but I can’t be sure and there are many Options that are safer than this Company So please. If your booked with Tubale Safari, make sure to contact the lodges and do whatever you have to t get confirmation. And don’t Pay more than the bare minimum, most likely you have to pay for the Lodges etc. yourself. It was not a nice experience, to deal with that every day of our trip, we never knew if the Tours were going on, till that Day or if we had the reservation still standing at the Lodges. It does not make for a relaxing Trip. In the end we lost out on a few experiences do to Tubale Safari and we did not get the Experience that we hoped for. Had to pay for a lot of extras that we already paid for and had every day to deal with the uncertainty. On the good side, we had a good Guide and the Tours we did go on, the Guides were great. We met some nice People in Uganda, so go there and enjoy, but nit with Tubale Safari If you’re at the start of planning with that company, STOP. And look elsewhere. There are other Options. Since we had to go through that, we talked to other Companies, so there are good ones out there. Should you have any questions, please contact me. Anette is good at telling you what you want to hear and has an excuse for everything, one time is that her account got blocked by the Government, on time she said the Night Game Drive was cancel because of Safety issues, the next Day we met People and they were on the Night Game Drive, and so on I am happy to share the communication, screenshots, that I had with Anette and Tubale Safari Hopefully the Uagnda Tourist Board and other Places, where Tubale Safari is on, is gone see this Like #Safari Booking look elsewhere This review is not meant to discourage anyone from visiting Uganda. It is a beautiful country with incredible nature and, above all, wonderful people. However, this review is specifically about our experience with Tubale Safari and Anette. At the beginning of the planning process, the company appeared professional and trustworthy. They had good reviews on TripAdvisor, SafariBookings, and were listed with the Uganda Tourism Board. For that reason, we felt confident booking with them. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the experience did not match what had been promised. A few days before our trip, I reached out after seeing a negative review online. Anette reassured me that everything was in order. However, upon arrival in Uganda, I received a message asking us to pay for the first two hotels, lodges, and initial tours (including Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park, and the river cruise) due to “bank issues.” With little choice, we paid, as we were told the situation would be resolved within a few days. It was not. Throughout the trip, we ended up paying for nearly all lodges (except one), most tours (including Golden Monkey Tracking), as well as fuel and vehicle-related costs. At one point, the vehicle was locked remotely twice by its owner because payments had not been made by Tubale Safari. Although our guide managed to resolve the situation, we missed a scheduled early morning game drive because of it. During the entire trip, we were repeatedly given different explanations and excuses. Despite having already paid for the full package in advance, we had to cover many costs again. In total, we incurred additional expenses of approximately 7,500 USD for accommodation, tours, transportation, food, and missed activities. On the last day of the trip, Anette met us in person and promised to reimburse the money by March 5, 2026. As of today, we have received only 3100 USD. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend or trust this company. While it is possible that future trips may go smoothly, there is no certainty, and there are many more reliable alternatives available. If you have already booked with Tubale Safari, I strongly advise you to: • Contact all lodges directly to confirm your reservations • Be cautious with advance payments • Be prepared to pay costs on-site This situation created constant uncertainty throughout our trip. We never knew if bookings were valid or if activities would take place. This significantly impacted our overall experience and prevented us from fully enjoying the journey. On a positive note, our guide was excellent, and the local guides during excursions were professional and knowledgeable. We also met many kind and welcoming people in Uganda. So yes – visit Uganda, it is absolutely worth it. But based on our experience, I would strongly recommend choosing a different tour operator. If anyone has questions, I am happy to share more details, including communication and screenshots.
Avoid! Our money does not seem to have been used to pay for the hotels, the treks, and the gorilla permits! The manager Annet changed the hotels without notifying us (trip paid for 1 year in advance to finance everything!!!) We were forced to pay for a hotel to be able to leave after waiting for 4 hours! She doesn't want to hear anything about it. We learn that she didn't book the Gorilla Habituation permit, she tries to send us on the simple trek, in short, we have doubts about the end of our stay: the dream is actually a nightmare because of her! And no 4×4 vehicle as in the quote but a van not suited for Ugandan tracks! In short, there are more serious agencies.
We booked with Tubale Safaris after we compared with several operators. We choose to book with them due to their professionalism in communication, quick to respond and relatively better priced. We indeed made a better choice. Everything was well organized from start to end. Highly recommended!
While our trip was over a while ago, we keep going over the fond memories we made in our extraordinary visit to Uganda. From the breathtaking wildlife, the delicious food, the kind people, the beautiful hotels, to our amazing guide Jamal, we had a truly unforgettable experience. Everything worked seamlessly starting with the communication with Annette, our Travel Consultant, who always provided us with fast answers and accommodated all our requests to tailor our dream trip. We chose a mid-range budget option, with a variety of hotels, and we never lacked for comforts - we always felt very well taken care of, and we got to experience some of the dreamiest hotels. The key piece of our trip was our incredible guide Jamal. He is very experienced, fun to talk to, a confident and safe driver, extremely knowledgable in everything about Uganda - especially the animals!!! - and eagle-eyed in spotting all the species. When a personal situation forced us to make ad-hoc stops and detours, Jamal was incredibly acommodating and understanding, doing everything he could to support us. We wholeheartedly recommend this 11-day trip to anyone. Go for the magnificent gorillas, but don't miss out on the endearing chimpanzees and the unique shoebill near Entebbe. Uganda truly is the pearl of Africa, and Tubale the perfect option to discover it.
Note: Our trip was in February 2025. Even though our trip took place more than a year ago, we keep on going over all of the fond memories of our time in Uganda. From the breathtaking wildlife, delicious food, extraordinary hotels and the most amazing and knowledgeable guide, Jamal, we had the most unforgettable experience. The trip was perfect in every step: starting with the seamless communication with Annette, our Travel Consultant, who answered always very fast and was extremely accommodating to all of our desires in terms of trip customization. We planned a mid-range budget experience with a mix of hotels and never lacked for comforts - we felt extremely well taken care of and still got to experience some of the dreamiest hotels. Our trip would have never been so extraordinary without the key piece of it all: our guide Jamal. He is extremely experienced, fun to talk to, a confident and safe driver, incredibly knowledgeable about everything in Uganda - especially animals!! -, and absolutely eagle-eyed in spotting all species. When a personal situation forced us to make ad-hoc stops and detours, Jamal was incredibly accommodating and understanding, going out of his way to support us. We wholeheartedly recommend taking this unique 11-day trip to anyone. Go for the magnificent gorillas, and Dr. Goodall’s chimpanzees, but don’t miss out on the amazing safaris and shoebills in Entebbe. Uganda truly is the pearl of Africa and Tubale are the perfect choice for this adventure!!
Our trip was absolutely amazing. Annette was super responsive to our needs both before and during our trip. Isaac our driver/guide was a star especially with all those long drives on those bumpy Ugandan roads 😃
We had a fantastic time on our Uganda trip. The itinerary was excellent, the right combination of safaris and relaxation. Isaac was our driver/ guide and looked after us really well. Anette was very easy to get in touch with and was very responsive when we needed help. She kept checking we were happy and quickly provided a response when we were not so happy with one if the lodges. As this trip was our honeymoon, she made sure all of the lodges were informed, and most made us feel very special. She went over and beyond to accommodate us and Tubale offered us excellent value for money compared to many other international agencies. I would highly. recommend Tubale Safaris without reservation.
We’ve had a great 7-day tour of Uganda that included the Rhinos, the Big five at Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth , Chimpanzees, as well as Gorilla tracking. Annet did a great job at organizing our trip on a short notice. Our guide Isaac was a fantastic tour guide - he was very friendly, organized, an excellent driver and incredibly well connected with the rangers and other guides at the parks, which helped a lot in seeing all animals we wanted to see. We’re already planning to come back next year with a bigger group and more Safari days with Tubale Safaris. Highly recommend!

Our guide Denison was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fun. Every moment of the trip felt special, from the incredible gorilla trek (truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!) to the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where we watched the Nile roar through the rocks in a spectacular display of nature’s power. We saw so much wildlife—lions, elephants, colorful birds—and the whole trip was smooth and perfectly organized. Denison made sure we were always in the right place at the right time, and his passion for Uganda really shined through. Couldn’t recommend Tubale Safaris more. Pure joy from start to finish!
Dear Daniel, Wow! I can't thank you enough for this beautiful review, everything is so on point and well stipulated. I can't wait to share your thoughts with Shafic, he will be thrilled. Am glad to know you had a great and an unforgettable Uganda Safari experience with us here. It was a true pleasure hosting you. Cheers!
I thank Annet and Isaac the guide for the patience it takes with a customer like me. The trip was BEAUTIFUL (two weeks without stopping .. and unfortunately we have not even seen everything there is to see .. like East Uganda). I didn't think I could feel so calm in the deepest Africa, on the border between Congo and Rwanda. My daughter Ginevra (who is still a teenager) and my wife Simona thank Tubale Safaris. I think such a wide variety of animals (including birds .. butterflies etc. besides Obviously primates and mammals), we haven't seen it even in the Serengeti. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Ps. wear the long-sleeved or short-sleeved shirt without problems, while in Italy the humid heat is priceless... and see 3 Leopards in one evening and one in the morning in the park of Lake Mburo was remarkable What did I understand? That smile is a tool of great maturity that really has power I also translate into English I thank Annet and the guide Isaac for the patience that is needed with a client like me.
