Attraversando il cuore di Venezia, il Canal Grande è uno spettacolo da non perdere. Con una lunghezza di oltre 2 miglia e la forma di una "S" rovesciata, questo iconico corso d'acqua si snoda attraverso la città, collegando affascinanti quartieri e mettendo in mostra le meraviglie architettoniche di Venezia. Parti per un viaggio lungo il Canal Grande e assisti alla grandiosità dei palazzi, delle chiese e degli edifici che fiancheggiano le sue sponde. Lasciati stupire dai loro intricati design, adornati con facciate colorate e dettagli eleganti, che riflettono secoli di storia veneziana e ricchezza culturale. Alla fine del Settecento Venezia vantava sette teatri antichi, due dedicati alla prosa e il resto alla musica. Il più lussuoso tra loro era il Teatro San Benedetto, situato vicino a Campo San Luca. Fondato dalla famiglia Grimani nel 1755, fu poi ceduto alla Nobile Società dei Palchettisti. Tuttavia, per accordo giudiziario del 1787, la società fu espulsa e costretta a cedere il teatro ai nobili Venier, proprietari del terreno su cui sorgeva l'edificio. La società si propose prontamente di costruire un nuovo e più grandioso teatro, che si sarebbe chiamato Gran Teatro La Fenice, come il mitico e immortale uccello citato da Erodoto nelle sue Storie. Proprio come la fenice è in grado di risorgere dalle proprie ceneri, questo nuovo teatro simboleggerebbe la rinascita della società dalle sue disgrazie.
Numerose sono le persistenze toponomastiche che ricordano una presenza diffusa in passato, un po' in tutta la città, di attività orticole o comunque di aree non edificate ricoperte di vegetazione, tra le quali si possono citare i campi, campagne e cortili dell'erba o del calli del combattente. La prima attestazione certa del Rio dell'Alboro risale al 1696, mentre quella del Rio de le Ostreghe vi si aggiunge nel secolo successivo. È probabile che nelle vicinanze stazionasse un venditore di questi prelibati frutti di mare, la cui coltivazione in laguna ebbe un notevole impulso soprattutto nella prima metà dell'800, lasciandone testimonianza anche nell'omonimo canale degli ostregheri, oggi Canale dei Lavraneri, in Sacca Fisola.
Santa Maria della Salute, situata a Venezia, è una magnifica basilica che si erge come simbolo di gratitudine e speranza. Costruita nel XVII secolo, fu dedicata alla Vergine Maria per commemorare la liberazione della città dalla devastante pestilenza. La sua imponente struttura a cupola e l'elegante design barocco ne fanno uno straordinario gioiello architettonico lungo il Canal Grande. L'interno è adornato con squisite opere d'arte e decorazioni elaborate, creando un senso di soggezione per i visitatori. We had a beautiful tour Stopping at different facilities Hotel, Resort.. From the magnificent landscapes, full of ancient history and recent Bangkok chaotic city, but fascinating!! Between majestic temples and modern buildings, evocative meetings with monks immersed in nature .. The bathroom with beautiful elephants to see... and many other interesting things

Booked Gondolier trip in Venice £148.22 for two people, advertised as a “magical 30-minute experience around the canals of Venice, book now to avoid being over charged locally, but if you do find it cheaper, we will price match”. The trip was rubbish, last 20 mins at most, only thing the gondolier said was to moan about the weight not being distributed evenly, basically went round a few corners and back to base, then another 5 mins just to park up again. The event organisers were advertising same trip for €36 pp. On complaining they refused to price match. So if you take my advice DON’T BOOK, it’s a scam, and pay locally, but go to a private Gondolier and not the rip off merchants we used. So much for the magic of Venice.

What a waste of money, we paid £148.22 for 15 minutes in the gondola. There was no narration and we went out of the docking area, up a side canal and back. To top it off the other couple on our gondola had paid €37. 00 each. I will be contacting Tripadvidor for a refund. Also it was not magical, just a conveyor belt. Do not book before you travel!

If your purpose is to say you "did it" then this is fine but if you are wanting an experience then this is not for you. As they say you get what you pay for. Our Gondolier chatted with another Gondolier the whole time so we had another group of people in a Gondola next to us the enitre time. The water taxi had a far more intimate experience but we have pictures to say "been there, done that."
We had a conversation with our operator and unfortunately the gondolier did not have a good attitude. We apologize and inform you that the gondolier has already been fired from the company.
I took my mother to Venice and booked this gondola. It was disappointing, it was 22 minutes and that is short for so much money. We expected more from this, it would take 30 minutes.

If you are going mid day with the crowd, you will want to book as lines are long. This was my 2nd ride. My first I did in the morning on my own w no crowds so the water was peaceful and it seemed to be a longer ride going solo.
