Had a bad experience, book bus tour for two hours and ended up with one hour,when I ask the bus operator he said its only one hour not two,in Rome I booked tour for St Peter's Basilica, reached their on time but the QR code didn't work.
Touring St. Peter's was an extraordinary experience. It is an amazing monument to Christianity, not to be missed if you're vising Rome. Viator's ticketing process, however, was less than satisfactory. We received the barcode showing that we had purchased tickets but were never able to download the QR code for the actual tickets. As a consequence, if it had not been for a very understanding guard at the ticket entrance, we would not have been able to enter the church.
We used elevator. When visiting dome, exit thru other door to go down. Everyone we spoke to were very nice. We could not find your guide so we continued without. Only advantage was booking before timeframe available on official site
I bought the tickets for the Basilica and the dome, but they only sent me the pass for the Basilica, so I had to buy the dome ticket again.
I must honestly say that I do not understand the bad reviews here. We booked the tickets online in advance, where you do not have to wait in line, then went to the address that was sent to us via the app (where we booked) and by email. (When you stand in front of the building, it's all the way to the right in the front) There, we were able to go in without any problems without waiting in line, as we had purchased the tickets in advance, as mentioned. I would recommend buying the tickets beforehand, as many people wait in line during the day, for example, at the cathedral, where you can simply go forward without any issues. The cathedral with stairs is very narrow at the top and you walk a lot.. however, I would also not recommend booking with the elevator, as no one checks whether you have a ticket for the elevator or stairs.. The view at the top is beautiful; it is worth it!
The tickets we purchased for the dome did not work. We wasted our afternoon trying to get it figured out. Our tickets worked for St Peter’s but not the dome. Frustrating.
The service was recommended to me by a friend. The online booking process was very easy, and I thought the price was quite reasonable. I received all the details via WhatsApp, which made everything feel very straightforward and personalised. When I arrived at the Vatican, however, the staff who welcomed us were quite rude and didn't explain anything. The queue to enter the Basilica was actually slower than the regular line, which was disappointing. That said, the person I communicated with on WhatsApp was always incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive. They answered all my questions and made the overall experience much more positive. Without their excellent customer service, I would definitely have given this service a much lower rating
This tour did not provide Basilica Dome climb, even though the title of the experience is "Vatican: Skip the Line St. Peter’s Basilica and Dome Ticket". Also, the email reminder included this information: - Inclusions * Reserved tickets to St. Peter’s Basilica. * Reserved tickets to the Dome (optional) * Multilingual digital audio guide * All reservation fees These were all checked items. It is not clear the Dome climb is not included. We would not have spent that much money on tickets that did not include the dome climb. We are unhappy that did not realize this oversite until we were at the Basilica and were denied entry to the dome climb. We have been customers of Viator previously and are disappointed that we felt this was a deceptive offer. I feel that a refund of 1/2 of the ticket price is fair.
We couldn't find the meeting location, walked around for 45 min, tried calling several times with no answer. Finally gave up.
Audio link didn't work. I had to buy audio guide from the basilica staff. There was no one at the indicated meet point to guide.
