Great museum. Do the audio. Comprehensive outline of Van Gogh and his history, family and artwork Well worth a visit.
A must for Amsterdam, with an excellent audio guide. I hadn't booked my tickets in time before the trip; with Viator, one day before, I managed to find it with a 100% markup, acceptable compared to other offers. Keep in mind that even if you select the option for minors, since the ticket is actually free, it is not issued, but neither is the reservation, so they might give you trouble at the entrance.
This museum beautifully communicated the depth of the artist Vincent Van Gogh. The audio was very informative and felt like almost a live guide .What a prolific artist ,especially in his last year of life .I was very sad he suffered so much mentally .They really were respectful about that aspect. The museum was laid out beautifully and it has fostered for me a great interest in him that I never had before .The gift shop had unique and reasonably priced moments. I loved this experience
The museum was wonderful. Great experience overall for the family. We enjoyed the sessions and the information shared. What wasn’t great was the purchasing of the tickets and the fact that Viator did not provide us valid tickets for our kids. The museum is free for under 18 and we had two tickets purchased for them, they were not provided. I only received 2 adult tickets and the ticket checkers were adamant that we needed tickets for the kids. They said that this was a problem with Viator and that I should address it with Viator. We were likely to be let in to the museum since we weren’t provided valid vouchers.
This is a great experience. I loved the way they explain the paintings in relation to the place (physical and mental) and the people who surround the artist. I would return to Amsterdam just for that visit. Loved it. Make sure to buy the audio help. It complements well.
Fun and interesting exhibition with audio guide. Definitely recommended for a visit..
The Van Gogh Museum and the audio guide were highly recommended. The children (10-12) also liked it very much - We didn't have much time and therefore listened to/watched the audio highlights. What I didn't like so much is that we (because all official tickets were already sold out) booked via TripAdvisor - for 1 adult and 2 children + audio guides. This was, of course, almost three times more expensive, and in the end, I only received one ticket for one adult + 1 audio guide ticket. While children can enter for free and the audio guide is also free up to age 12, they still need a ticket, as the museum only allows a limited number of people inside. I received no response to my email regarding the missing tickets. The museum was not happy about it, but then exceptionally allowed my children to enter the museum as well. We were very grateful, and the nice lady at the counter also thankfully gave the kids an audio guide! So I strongly advise booking in good time via the museum's official website!
Wonderful museum, it is worth the trip, I recommend getting the audio guide.
I traveled here with my daughter who is very interested in the arts. I have little to no knowledge of art or the history of it. We did the audio self guided tour. I truly enjoyed the entire visit with the audio information. It was easy to follow. Well set up and organized. It appeared to be a modern building and clean. There was an elevator for those with mobility issues. This is a very busy location. Timed entry is in place and is required. The ability to move through at your own pace was very nice. Some points did not holed a lot interest and others more so. So it was nice to be able to take time and enjoy the paintings.
The art was amazing, and the audio guided tour was lovely. I learned so much. Highly recommend it here.
