Itinerario

Very busy being Christmas. But enjoyed our day to the underwater river. The trips were cancelled the next day because of a typhoon, so we were very fortunate to get to see it.
You need to take a boat ride from sabang beach (you will get wet getting up and down the boat) to the underground river beach front. At the mouth of the cave, you get into smaller paddle boat for 4-8 pax and your 30-40mins began. It's very dark inside and you can only see where the paddler shine his touchlight. It doesn't have the colours of nature, just dark caves and rocks formation. Aim to reach sabang beach by 9am to avoid the crowd of tourist. When I leave at 10am after the tour, I can see many boats entering the caves, meaning you will see a lot of flashlight shining everywhere.
Pick up was highly unorganized but the tour itself was beautiful and Edna and Boat 60 guys were fantastic!
If your one of those nature lover, you would appreciate the beauty inside. One of nature's wonders, I was really amazed by it's natural rock formation. Surely a must visit when visiting Palawan. I love the Philippines! Loud and Proud!
We booked this tour through our Airbnb. The fee included a pick up and drop off from our Airbnb which was great. The host and driver were super friendly and helpful and gave us lots of info. It’s quite a long drive from Puerto Princesa town but totally worth it! Lunch was included in our trip which was a Filipino buffet style with rice fish meat and veg. We also did a mangrove river tour which was 350peso per person which was good and the guide knew loads about it and was really nice. The underground river tour is amazing and beautiful to look at all the sculptures and youget an Audio guide to talk through the history etc. Group of around 13 people so was quite big but really enjoyed overall
The tour guides are the best. They are funny and make sure you won't have a boring trip to the underground. The place is so amazing and you will be surprised with the animals around you.

A must see! Go first thing in the morning to avoid crowd. I t does get busy by mid-day.

My February 2018 visit in Puerto Princesa with a very informative tour in Underground River. I spent my Birthday with lots of people who are curious like me as well for the historic place.
This was a wonderful tour. The 45 min. boat ride was smooth and pleasant. The audio with ear piece was well timed and really added to the tour without being overdone. It was a huge benefit. I suggest staying the night in Sabang beach so the 5 hour round trip from Puerto Princesa won't wear you out. That's what we were told and are very happy with our decision.

The core of the trip is the 45M boat ride in the underground river but the entire trip is roughly 6.5H. The 1.5H ride up was through green country with some small roadside villages en route. Being with a guide saved lots of procedural unknowns. One next took a less than 15M bangka ride to the area of the river. A further 5M walk to you to the entrance area and your boat. Supplied items were lifejackets worn on the bangkas and the underground river boat trip plus a hard hat and audiotape for the underground river boat trip. The audiotape was very good. The cave is not a Disney production. There is minimal lighting from the boat captains. After a second bangka ride, it was time for lunch at the Gusto Grill. Same was no more than average. Lots of nodding off on the way home. This was by and large an enjoyable visit to a unique World Heritage Site.
