L'importante caratteristica Wat Lokayasutharam è un'enorme immagine di Buddha sdraiato, chiamata Phra Bhuddhasaiyart, che si affaccia ad est. Fu costruito con mattoni e cemento nello stile dell'arte del periodo Medio Ayutthaya. È lungo 37 metri e alto 8 metri. Ci sono altre impressionanti immagini di Buddha sdraiato ad Ayutthaya, ma questa sembra essere la più grande.
Questo monastero era il tempio più importante di Ayutthaya e situato all'interno del parco del Grand Palace
Wat Mahathat era uno dei templi più importanti di Ayutthaya. Ha consacrato le reliquie del Buddha ed è stata la sede del supremo patriarca del buddismo e quindi il centro del buddismo nel regno di Ayutthaya.
Nel 1957 fu saccheggiata la cripta del Wat Ratchaburana e furono rubati molti manufatti preziosi come tavolette votive, insegne reali dorate, gemme e immagini di Buddha. I ladri furono catturati e alcuni dei tesori furono recuperati. Un anno dopo il Dipartimento di Belle Arti iniziò gli scavi e il restauro del tempio. Sono stati scoperti molti altri oggetti inestimabili che ora sono esposti nelle vicinanze
Il museo prende il nome da Chao Sam Phraya, re di Ayutthaya nel 15 ° secolo. Sono esposte diverse migliaia di oggetti tra cui immagini di Buddha, tavolette votive, manufatti d'oro e altri tesori recuperati dalle cripte di diversi templi.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram fu costruito nel 1630 dal re Prasat Thong. Era uno dei più grandi monumenti del regno di Ayutthaya. Il re costruì il tempio come mezzo per ottenere il merito buddista e come monumento a sua madre. Le sue ceneri sono racchiuse in due chedi quadrati che fiancheggiano l'ubosot sul lato est del tempio.
