Durante il nostro tour gastronomico di Sants, visiteremo molte di queste istituzioni di quartiere, sia vecchie che nuove, per avere un assaggio di com'era la vita a Barcellona prima che la città diventasse l'hotspot globale che è oggi. Inizieremo con un'abbondante colazione nel Mercat de Sants, recentemente restaurato, in attività dal 1913, e assaggeremo ciò che viene offerto dai venditori all'interno. Mentre proseguiamo attraverso il quartiere, visiteremo alcuni dei suoi numerosi negozi di alimentari e ristoranti, sia vecchi che nuovi, assaggiando piatti molto amati da menu che cambiano a seconda della stagione. Lungo la strada ci fermeremo nelle bodegas e nei bar della vecchia scuola per gustare un po' di vermut con tapas tra le botti di vino e in piccole panetterie e negozi di cioccolato per dolci fatti a mano.
Non lasceremo Sants, però, senza una visita a uno dei progetti sociali e culturali più singolari del quartiere, un'enorme fabbrica tessile del XIX secolo che dopo decenni di disuso è stata trasformata dalla gente del posto in un vivace centro culturale, uno che ha persino il proprio bar e microbirrificio. Davanti a un drink e altri bocconi di cibo di Sants, impareremo la storia dell'organizzazione della comunità a Sants e cosa rende questo quartiere così speciale. Dopotutto, non capita tutti i giorni di avere la possibilità di uscire dalla rete pur essendo nel cuore della città.

We were a group of 3 with a fantastic guide who shared the history of Sants and the foods Catalonian’s eat daily. Well organized as All of the stops were waiting for us with tables set! Our guide served us portions from the market, specialty cheese, meats and chocolates with complete explanations of their heritage and importance in Catalonia diet. We were never rushed, and questions were welcomed. A great experience eating and drinking through Sants!

What a wonderful experience!! I can't say enough about this 1/2 day off the grid food tour. We started our vacation with it learning so much about the city and the history. Sema was such a wonderful guide; she was so knowledgable and fun and it made for a great day! We enjoyed every minute of the tour with her. We loved being in a section of the city we otherwise may not have visited.

This tour was incredible! Our tour guide Guilluame was awesome! He showed us a side of Barcelona that we never would have seen if we didn't do the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about food, history, and the neighborhood. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and my shellfish allergy was easily accommodated. Easily one of the best and most unique experiences we have had traveling.
