Our guide Tsholo was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He provided us with an amazing Johannesburg experience. My highlight was the tour around Soweto township. The day trip covered all that we wanted to see.
This was a great opportunity to get the "full" Johannesburg experience without feeling unsafe or in danger. Johannesburg is a rough city with lots of incredible history. Pickup was on time and the van was very clean. We spent most of our time on the van driving through Johannesburg. I at no point had any desire to stop and get out. I did however appreciate our guide explaining the history of each neighborhood we passed through. We did have a few stops for pictures and food. I recommend this tour for anyone looking to learn and experience the history of Joburg in a single day.

I got the opportunity to go on the "Ultimate Johannesburg" tour with Stephenson Travels. My guide for the day was Tsholo. I got a wonderful overview of the city, the history, culture, politics. In just one day I was not only able visit some of the important sightseeing sites but learned about all the varying contrasts of the city through the eyes on a knowledgeable local guide. There are the rich neighborhoods like Houghton on one side and the poverty and squalor of the shanty towns in Soweto. Tsholo was friendly yet professional. He was perfectly on time and met me at the reception of the hotel even though I offered to go down to the street. He made sure I got enough time to explore every site without rushing. He called ahead my lunch order for my first Braai - it was delicious! I highly recommend Tsholo and Stephenson Travels for the Ultimate Johannesburg tour.
