What a great experience with Luis! He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the Pacific green turtles and their nesting habits. We went out near Tamarindo under some of the most challenging conditions—low tide, rain, a full moon, and rough seas—but Luis knew exactly what he was doing. Despite the conditions, we were fortunate enough to see two Pacific green turtles, which made the experience truly unforgettable. Luis was patient, informative, and respectful of the turtles throughout the entire tour. His knowledge really added to the experience, and we learned so much along the way. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in the Tamarindo area and want to see these amazing animals in their natural environment. An incredible experience we’ll never forget!

This was a fantastic activity. The guide went above and beyond to make sure the experience was memorable for everyone in our group - from children to seniors. We saw many nesting turtles and he ensured we were all respectful of them. I highly recommend this operator. D

We had a great time with our guide Luis! We went on the hike in September when it's very, very rare to find turtles, but somehow Luis managed to find a giant Green Turtle which was just about to lay its eggs. We got to spend an hour just watching it, and you could feel how Luis really cared about the animals and made sure that we didn't disturb the turtle. We also got to see tons of ghost crabs, hermit crabs and Halloween crabs which was cool as well! One thing to note is that the hike to the beach is around 15mins in terrain in the dark. So if you're afraid of that or have trouble walking this might not be the tour for you. It was not a problem for us and it made the experience so much more special and also meant us being alone on the whole beach so it was definitely worth it!

My turtle tour with Luis was one of the best experiences I had in Costa Rica. He went above and beyond to make sure I had the best possible experience. Luis shared a lot of fascinating information about sea turtles, and together we even helped two baby turtles safely reach the ocean. His passion, knowledge, and dedication made this tour truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Costa Rica.

Luis was an amazing guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Our visit was action packed. We were able to see two baby turtles and even save one of them from the ghost crabs. We were also able to see a mom turtle come out of the ocean, find a good place to build a nest, dig a nest and a hole as well as lay the eggs. I don’t think there is anything more we could have asked for.

Luis was an outstanding guide! He was highly knowledgeable and very accommodating. We were fortunate to help two baby turtles fend off the many ghost crabs as they found their way to the ocean. We then saw a green turtle come ashore and dig a nest to lay her eggs. In between the baby tuerles going to see and the green turtle laying eggs, Luis took as to some nearby pools where we saw many other types of sea life, like urchins and fish. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Luis, he spent a lot of time looking for tracks and because he is in communication with other guides, we were able to find a turtle making her nest and right next to her was another nest where baby turtles were making the journey to the ocean. It takes patience to wait to find one but if the conditions are right and you’re lucky, you will get to see something incredible. Even if we hadn’t seen it ourselves, Luis was happy to explain the whole process and answer all our questions. He’s been doing it for 15 years so it was great to hear him talk about it and the tour was worth it just for his knowledge. Highly recommend!

This is a great tour. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Just be advised that it greats dark quickly which can be scary, a long bumpy road and a lot of walking involved., but it was all worth it. We had a great time. We saw 3 turtles and a host of other creatures.
