Il monte Ba Den, situato nel nord-est della città di Tay Ninh, è un punto di riferimento famoso e iconico nel Vietnam del Sud. Nello specifico, questa gigantesca montagna si trova all'interno del complesso storico e culturale di Ba Den, a circa 100 chilometri dalla vivace metropoli di Ho Chi Minh City. Questa montagna vanta un'altitudine impressionante di 986 metri, rendendola la vetta più alta dell'intero sud del Vietnam. Questa altezza svettante contribuisce al fascino del sito, attirando visitatori da ogni parte del mondo. Lo scenario naturale che circonda il monte Ba Den è semplicemente incantevole, con paesaggi maestosi che affascinano il cuore di tutti coloro che si avventurano lì.
La Santa Sede di Cao Dai, fondata nel 1926, si trova 4 km a est di Tay Ninh, nel villaggio di Long Hoa. Oltre al Grande Tempio, il complesso ospita uffici amministrativi, residenze per funzionari e adepti e un ospedale di medicina erboristica tradizionale vietnamita che attira per i suoi trattamenti persone da tutto il sud. Mentre il Buddismo e il Cristianesimo sono ben conosciuti in Vietnam, il Caodaismo rimane relativamente oscuro. Il caodaismo è la religione più giovane del paese e fonde elementi di varie religioni significative nelle sue pratiche uniche. La Santa Sede di Tay Ninh, conosciuta localmente anche come Tempio Cao Dai, rappresenta questo affascinante sistema di credenze. Le preghiere vengono condotte quattro volte al giorno nel Grande Tempio (sospese durante il Tet). Vale la pena visitarlo durante le sessioni di preghiera (quella di mezzogiorno è più popolare tra i gruppi di turisti di Ho Chi Minh). Solo poche centinaia di aderenti, vestiti con splendidi abiti, partecipano alle preghiere dei giorni feriali, ma durante le feste possono partecipare diverse migliaia.

La costruzione iniziale iniziò nel 1948 quando il Viet Minh ebbe bisogno di un posto dove nascondersi dagli attacchi aerei francesi, e nel 1965 si stima che il complesso di tunnel fosse composto da 200 km di tunnel. Comprendeva ospedali, scuole, sale riunioni, cucine e dormitori. La vita era difficile per gli abitanti e per proteggersi dagli intrusi esterni venivano piazzate trappole esplosive in tutto il complesso.

Luk was great, he knew lots about each place and was more than willing to teach us and answer our questions. He was very happy and seemed excited to be with us. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see some amazing places with a great driver/guide.

We had a great day with Tuan visiting the three sites. Our favorite was Black mountain as there’s so much to see and explore. Unfortunately all the restaurants ran out of food by the time we arrived at 1pm and it was Sunday so be sure to get there earlier. Tuan was very helpful, wish there was more history he could have shared with us but he did a great job and was a very good driver.

Had an amazing day with Luc. He was extremely knowledgable and we learnt a lot today. The Cu Chi Tunnels and Black Virgin Mountain were the highlights of the day. 10/10 recommend… bring your walking shoes and lots of water!

Engaging, informative and entertaining throughout the whole day! Our driver Luc was a sweetheart and also very professional. The entrance fees to cu chi tunnels and the black virgin mountain was extremely affordable with our tight budget. Overall, an amazing way to end our trip to Vietnam.
Incredible experience. First, Luc was a great guide, extremely knowledgeable about Vietnamese history, culture, food, and so much more really enjoyed learning from him. Spent about 3-4 hours in the car with just me my gf and luc so it was a pleasant way to travel around and see the different areas outside of Ho Chi Minh. I have been to some really cool temples but black virgin mountain is probably #1 now awesome experience, and great food. We did the gun range and tunnels at night which made it feel more real. Very cool experience as two Americans who didn’t know much about Vietnam would recommend to anyone I see
