After a small group tour the day before we decided to rent a boat for the two of us, 8 hours. This is an incredibly affordable and stunning newer boat with all the amenities! Snorkel gear, towels, fridge, stereo, charging port for phone - the best day we had in Tropea. We first travelled south of the port anchoring and swimming then back North where the sites were much quieter and less boat tours around us. We stretched out in the boat to relax, had shade when we needed it, enjoyed a picnic we brought, swimming and snorkelling for the whole day. The company reviews the boat and safety (we are experienced boaters), superb instructions, GPS - absolutely perfect.
Had an awesome day hiring a boat from Sea Sport Tropea! Plenty to see along the coast and the whole experience was super easy. We even extended for an extra hour with quick and easy communication through WhatsApp. Friendly staff and great service — highly recommend!

New and comfortable boats. Easy to drive. Staff helped set us up and gave us pointers. Very reasonably priced. 4 hours was plenty to see all the coves and caves.
We had a lot of fun! 2 of our group of 5 are licensed to operate boats in Canada, so we had no issues. It was pretty straightforward regardless. Great price for 4 hours as well! Take note: The map they give you does not match the landscape in any way. Use Google maps to judge your location. As well, we had issues at the start figuring out where to anchor to safely stop and snorkel.

We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hours of boating up and down the coast. It made for a very fun day. The sights are breathtaking and the vessel performed flawlessly well for us. Only issue was understanding all the sights to be seen (snorkel spots, etc). We struggled here with paper map and phone maps. And the paying for gas at the end in cash. There are 2 five gallon cans, we never switched tanks, yet we were charged $44 euros for 20 liters (based on a visual inspection….) of gas. Thats like 5.3 gallons. I might be wrong, but it didn’t add up. Again the value of 4 hours on your own boat for about $250 US in the end is great, just felt weird at the end. We had a fun day.
Dear Ryan, thank you for your review. However, I would like to clarify a few things regarding the fuel consumption. The boat has 2 tanks of 30 liters each, for a total of 60 liters on board. You used 20 liters (which is actually quite low, as this boat usually consumes 22–25 liters in 4 hours). The cost of fuel is €2.20 per liter, therefore: 20 liters × €2.20 = €44, which is exactly what you correctly paid. I truly hope this helps clarify the matter regarding the fuel consumption. If everything is clear, it would be kind of you to update your review — it’s a pity to leave any doubts about our professionalism 🙏🏻 Thank you sincerely. Brilliant experience. The boat was immaculate and Alex our expert, explained everything to us to ensure we drove safe and responsible. The boat has everything you need, including a fridge, shower and small cabins to store bags, shoes. We drove all the way to capo Vaticano from Tropea port, and first dropped anchor there. Beautiful place and great for snorkelling. Sea sports are a friendly and professional company, thank you Valentina who was our booking agent, messages you via what’s app before you arrive and during the trip if needed.
Just a fantastic experience a day at sea along the coast, marvel at watching snorkeling swim and enjoy. All the rest is done by the great crew on land. From booking to briefing to return at 6pm. Super Service, super Boot, super Leute. Thank you.
The boat was awesome and the staff were polite and informative without making you feel uneducated. Probably the best day of our trip. Water was so clear and the snorkeling was amazing. Follow the rules and you'll have an amazing time. Easy to drive and we loved the onboard fridge. Will do it again!
