La forma allungata e leggermente curva del Lago di Zurigo ricorda una banana. Il lago è lungo circa 28 chilometri da Rapperswil a Zurigo
Il Walensee è un lago delle Prealpi orientali svizzere e si trova nei cantoni di San Gallo e Glarona.

Il passo dell'Oberalp collega i paesi di Sedrun nella Surselva nel cantone dei Grigioni con Andermatt nella Valle di Orsera nel canton Uri in Svizzera
Andermatt è un villaggio nella Valle dell'Orsen delle Alpi svizzere. La funivia porta i visitatori al comprensorio sciistico di Gemsstock e una seggiovia collega il paese con le piste più facili del Nätchen. A nord di Andermatt uno dei numerosi sentieri escursionistici conduce al Teufelsbrücke attraverso la gola della Schöllenen. Il treno Glacier Express si ferma qui per 10 minuti.
La galleria di base della Furka è una galleria ferroviaria lunga 15,38 km aperta nel 1982, che collega Oberwald nel canton Vallese e Realp nel canton Uri. La galleria di base sostituisce la vecchia via di montagna della Furka.
Oberwald è il primo villaggio all'inizio del Goms. Si trova ai piedi del passo della Furka e del passo alpino del Grimsel. Nell'area dell'ex comune di Oberwald si trovano anche la frazione di Gletsch, che non è abitata tutto l'anno, e il ghiacciaio del Rodano.

Ad est è limitato dal Passo della Furka tra Galenstock e Pizzo Rotondo e ad ovest dal Weisshorn. La parte più alta della valle è ancora chiamata Obergoms.
Brig è una città alpina nel canton Vallese, nella Svizzera meridionale. Si trova ai piedi del Passo del Sempione, che porta al confine italiano. Una fermata del treno Glacier Express, Briga è nota per le sue terme, la Cappella di Sebastiano e il castello Stockalper del XVII secolo. A Brig lascerai il treno Glacier Express e, dopo la visita della città, tornerai al punto di partenza con un regolare treno intercity. Da Briga a Berna ci vuole un'ora, da Berna a Zurigo/Basilea o Lucerna un'altra ora.
La galleria di base del Lötschberg è una galleria ferroviaria lunga 34,6 chilometri che attraversa la catena alpina settentrionale al Lötschberg tra Frutigen nell'Oberland Bernese (Canton Berna, Svizzera) e Raron (Canton Vallese, Svizzera) ed è stata messa in funzione nel 2007. Questa galleria di base fa parte dell'asse Lötschberg-Sempione del Nuovo collegamento ferroviario attraverso le Alpi (NRLA), che va da Basilea via Bern-Thun-Spiez al Lötschberg e via Brig-Simplon-Domodossola a Milano e Novara-Genova, e accanto a quello parallelo all'asse del San Gottardo, costituisce un secondo tracciato per il traffico merci ferroviario transalpino del Corridoio Europeo (Rotterdam-Genova).
Il lago di Thun è un lago fiordo nell'Oberland bernese sul confine settentrionale delle Alpi.
Berna è chiamata la "Città federale" e funge da capitale della Svizzera. In quanto sede della città e di gran parte dell'amministrazione cantonale e federale, è il più grande centro della pubblica amministrazione del paese

Domenico was fabulous. This whole experience was so unique and special. I highly recommend it. We started in Chur which is so charming. The panoramic train was so fun and the views were phenomenal. We ended in Brig which is also very charming. We then took the resin back to Zurich. Domenico was knowledgeable, fun and charming as well.
Amazing views, a must-do in the Swiss Alps. Beautiful scenery, fantastic service. Yes, it's slow moving but that is part of the experience. Order food in advance, guarantees you get what you want quickly.

It was an incredible experience of trip to ZURICH, Switzerland, and I highly suggest everyone to embark on the Glacier Express journey at least once in their lifetime. Witnessing the breathtaking Alps up close from the comfort of the train as it winds its way along the mountain peaks is truly awe-inspiring. Our tour guide, Michael Myers, was just exceptional, serving as a knowledgeable and friendly companion throughout the trip. Exploring the quaint Swiss villages in CHUR and BRIG on foot was a serene experience, with lush greenery and meticulously maintained wooden houses adding to the charm of the surroundings of great mountains touching Northern Italy and Austria. Enjoyed the experience with my partner who celebrated his 50th birthday. It was a gift so I ordered a cake unfortunately one of the waiter's on the train ruined the suprise as soon as we say down. This upset me and ruined the day but the train journey itself was a success

For a train that requires a travel ticket and a £40 seat reservation, the scenery and quality of the coach is amazing; but that’s where it stops. The locomotive wasn’t branded, and looked out of place, some of the waiting staff were abrupt, boarding rude and there was no milk available meaning no cappuccino, hot chocolate or white coffee was available half way through the journey- disappointing
Hello You are reflecting the Glacier Express train but not our tour. Pity, that we don't get a feedback about our service and you mention weird details like a "not branded locomotive" or that there was no milk available. You mentioned, that it was half-way, that results the other half-way it was available. Would like to have your luxury problems.
Our guide, Michael, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, accommodating and great company. We particularly appreciated our walking tours of Chur and Brig whilst we waited for our trains. The scenery on the express itself was mind-blowing, and it was amazing to think that we travelled over the headwaters of both the Rhine and Rhône. We saw so much of Switzerland in a single day. The food on the express was good, although it was disappointing to learn that our dietary requirements (specified when I booked on the Viator site) had not been passed on to Glacier Express catering. Despite this rather unsatisfactory lapse, we still say 5 stars - mostly due to Michael and the scenery. Vielen dank, Michael!

We took the Glacier Express from Andermatt to Saint Moritz and returned the next day to Andermatt. We left the car in Andermatt. The car park to use overnight is located underneath the Radisson Hotel. Walking time from the car park to the train station is about 5 mins. Not far at all. For the Glacier Express you need to reserve in advance and seats go quickly. You will need to pay for the reservation and then buy a separate train ticket as well. We bought the train tickets at the station. The Glacier Express arrived perfectly on time and we found our seats without trouble whilst being welcomed aboard by the train manager. We travelled in First Class and the seats were very comfortable and the space available was good. Arrangement of the seats is 2:1 across the train. The views are absolutely amazing from top to bottom (windows at an angle in the top of the train) which meant we could see the mountains, the villages, the ravines, the snow capped mountains in August! The second day we woke up to fresh snow on the mountain tops which was amazing, especially as it was the start of August. The speed of the train in such that you can easily see the magnificent sights of Switzerland and take photos as you go without missing anything. The Glacier Express staff aboard the train, on the platforms and in the ticket office were all extremely polite and welcoming throughout.
