My wife and I, who are well into our 70’s, enjoyed this trip very much. We were happy that we are in relatively good condition as there was a considerable amount of walking and climbing. Our guide, Cyril, was organized, kind, knowledgeable, caring and funny and he shared a wealth of historical information and anecdotal stories. All the views and stops were beautiful and interesting. We especially liked the monastery at Saorge and Notre dames des Fontaines in LaBrigue. An added bonus was meeting and talking to the other travelers from USA, Lithuania and Estonia.

Sofia was a great guide, very well prepared and skillfull. Super friendly. Made our tour realy good.

We had an amazing time on this tour, in no small part due to our guide, Cyril! As others have said, this is a great way to beat the crowds and enjoy a dive into the culture of many of the small towns in the mountains. Cyril was fabulous - so knowledgable, engaging and accommodating to our group. And on top of that he was hilarious, always making the history more interesting that it already was to start! His passion, intelligence and personality made this. And he took us to so many hidden gems we could never have discovered otherwise.

This was a beautiful day of train travel, historic sights, fun, and laughter. Our guide Cyril was very kind, knowledgeable, and organized. He took excellent care of each guest! We learned, we asked questions and we met visitors from around the world. He took his time and made sure each person felt included. I advise anyone to wear appropriate shoes and ensure that you can physically manage long walk, hills, and a bit of nature! You should be physically fit essentially. The meals were great. The small restaurants and shopkeepers were so gracious. They truly welcomed everyone to explore their communities.

Samuel was a terrific guide - he kept our group on track and I believe he made us fall in love with France. I highly recommend this tour - it is important that you are in proper shape for the many hills you’ll have to climb for the sites.

This was an excellent experience. Our tour guide, Samuel, was knowledgeable and kept the group moving at a good pace. Tour group size was 10 plus the tour guide for a total of 11 people. We rode on regional trains and a regional bus. The streets of the towns were steep but manageable. The hike and dip in the river were highlights of the trip. The included lunch was delicious and a great chance to get to know the other folks on the tour. I highly recommend this experience!

Samuel was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the history of this region and he shared many, many things I did not previously know. When a terrible storm came, Samuel didn’t allow the rain to ruin our trip. He quickly planned an alternative activity for us while the storm passed over. All the sights were spectacular! I would highly recommend this tour, specifically with Samuel.

Truly an incredible, one of a kind experience. After gathering at the meeting point you get a train to the first village in the alps. The views on the train are absolutely stunning! You then get a bus further up and explore the town - most of the walking is uphill but it's not very steep. Beautiful village with lots to explore. Next we got the bus to explore the next village, which had some interesting points to explore - you could even see the French and Italian border in the mountains. We had a wonderful lunch full of local cuisine - it was absolutely delicious. The whole trip was well planned and timed and we were able to get the train back within 5 minutes of arriving at the station. The highlight of this tour was definitely our guide Cyril - he was absolutely amazing. Incredibly friendly, greeted everyone at the meeting point and took the time to get to know us - we came from Ireland and he even wore an Irish shirt which we thought was really wholesome. Throughout the entire tour, even on the train, Cyril explained the history of the places we passed through, shared fun facts, and had great humour to accompany his descriptions. He made the tour so much more interesting. He was also prepared for absolutely anything! He brought head fans for the warmth, mosquito spray for the bugs, water mist, and even umbrellas in case it rained. He also brought treats to feed the local cats which was amazing. We would trust this man with our life ! The trip was so nice and easygoing. We had a chance to all sit down and have some snacks in a beautiful garden too which was very peaceful. Would 100% recommend.

A mix of scenic train & bus rides & walking to ancient villages. Our guide Cyril was awesome. He greeted us with a huge smile & cup of coffee. He always made sure we were ok Not only was he a Tour Guide but he was a very friendly host too. His local knowledge is 2nd to none from his former professional career. I’ll never forget eating a snack that Cyril provided under the apricot tree at the monastery gardens & his telling the story of the 14th century frescoes at Notre Dame des Fontaines. Lunch at La Brigue was the best meal of our trip. A do not miss activity but only if Cyril is your tour guide!

I can’t give this trip a high enough rating. The whole trip went smoothly from start to finish. The sights we saw were exceptional, but ultimately, what made the trip was the energy and knowledge of our guide - the amazing Cyrile. This fellow was out of this world clever on the history and information and really went above and beyond. This would be without a doubt the best tour we have ever been on. Pack good shoes if it is raining and make sure you have your camera on charge with plenty of space as it exceeded expectations with what we saw. Filled a day in a life-long memorable way. Thanks Cyrile and to our fellow tour members who made this day fantastic.
