Ta Phin è un piccolo villaggio, abitato sia da Red Dao che da Hmong. Ta Phin Cave si trova nel villaggio di Ta Phin, nel distretto di Sapa. La grotta ha un'altezza di 5 me una larghezza di 3 m. L'antico monastero di Ta Phin, situato ai piedi della montagna, fu costruito nel 1942. Un tempo era un luogo di pratica per 12 monache ascetiche della Congregazione delle Suore della Chiesa Cattolica della Conversione Cristiana. Nel 1945, la delegazione lasciò Hanoi e il monastero fu abbandonato fino ai giorni nostri. In generale, il monastero è costituito da una casa di cinque stanze con la direzione principale rivolta a ovest, alta tre piani, che è la sistemazione e le attività delle suore. Per ora non c'è tetto, lasciando solo le pareti di pietra coperte di muschio nel corso degli anni, e talvolta tra quelle fredde pietre grigie, all'improvviso c'è un germoglio che germoglia, facendo sì che le persone debbano allargare gli occhi per la sorpresa.

Most epic hike ever! 5 Stars for May, who is a brilliant guide! Will never forget the day! Happy that she showed us and told us about her culture. It is a quite challenging hike, but you have always a helping hand. There are also some black hmong women, who want to sell stuff, but I think it is ok to support the local industry. The herbal bath is perfect for the end of the tour. Highly recommended!

Booking was confirmed but on the day no guide showed up and still no communication from the operator, very disappointing.
Trekking through the mountains was an amazing experience. Seeing rice fields, bamboo Forrest’s and cornfields close up was wonderful and the views all day were spectacular. May, our guide was very knowledgeable about local traditions and was very knowledgeable about local plants and their uses in cooking, medicine and clothing. The trek was challenging as we went on a very hot day but May provided easier options and rests along the way. The bath at the end was very appreciative. A great way to see and understand the area.

We were met by Chacha at our hotel lobby. From there we headed north, through villages, rice paddies, corn and bamboo fields. Had a substantial and very yum lunch then trekked a small distance further to the Red Dao herbal baths. Chacha was an amazing guide, telling us about her family, the local villages and farming life in the region. All up, we trekked about 12km. Chacha was very accommodating, asking if we preferred the easy or harder paths. We had a great day and we definitely recommend this trek. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and hats!!!

Very good experience. The trek with May, from the Red Dao community, was great. We walked the rice fields to the village of Ta phin off the beaten track, we met very few tourists. May always asks us whether we prefer to take a difficult path or not, and she adapts to our pace. She also answers all our questions about the region and its community. At the end, you can take a herbal bath typical of the Red Dao community, pure happiness...You can book without hesitation.
