Concedetevi succulente Porchetta arrosto da una gastronomia locale di famiglia. Prova il supplí, l'iconico cibo fritto romano di strada. Itinerario
Ponte Fabricio, noto anche come Ponte delle Quattro Teste, è il ponte più antico di Roma che conserva ancora la sua struttura originaria. Fu costruita nel 62 a.C. Sull'Isola Tiberina, durante l'epoca romana, sorgeva il Tempio di Esculapio. Secondo la leggenda, nel 293 a.C. scoppiò a Roma una grave pestilenza, che spinse il Senato a costruire un tempio dedicato al dio greco della medicina, Asclepio, conosciuto con il suo nome latino Esculapio. Asclepio (greco) o Esculapio (latino) è una figura della mitologia greca e romana. Divenne il dio della medicina, profondamente venerato dal popolo per la sua gentilezza verso i malati.
Da Etta Ristorante (prima tappa), situato in Piazza in Piscinula, si entra in una zona il cui nome deriva dalla presenza di antiche terme romane con piscine (“piscinula” è una forma diminutiva). In passato, Roma era piena di tali terme, molte delle quali hanno dato il nome a vari quartieri. Questa è l'unica piazza dove il nome è rimasto. Affacciate su questa magica piazza, dal fascino medievale, si trovano le Case Mattei quattrocentesche, costruite inglobando edifici trecenteschi già appartenuti alla famiglia Mattei.
Da Piazza in Piscinula, si può raggiungere la Casa di Dante, divenuta, in oltre cento anni di storia, uno dei più prestigiosi e attivi centri di ricerca dantesca in Italia e all’estero.
Si arriva poi a Vicolo del Moro, una strada camaleontica, con la capacità di trasformarsi tra giorno e notte. La passeggiata è arricchita da botteghe e artigiani locali. Di notte, la zona diventa una delle zone più vivaci della vita notturna di Roma. Dopo pochi passi, sarete abbracciati dall'aroma del pane appena sfornato della panetteria La Renella, una delle più antiche di Roma.
Si arriva infine a Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, cuore antico di Trastevere. La piazza è dominata dalla Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere, da cui prende il nome. Fu fondata nel 217 d.C. da papa Callisto. I mosaici del XIII secolo sulla facciata della chiesa sono davvero spettacolari. La piazza ospita anche una fontana considerata la più antica di Roma, in quanto costruita nello stesso luogo in cui sorgeva una fontana già al tempo dell'imperatore Augusto. Circondano la piazza, a destra della basilica, la Casa dei Canonici di Santa Maria; a sinistra, il Palazzo San Callisto, il Palazzo Cavalieri (costruito nel XVI secolo), e il seicentesco Palazzo Pizzirani.

Evening Food tour of trastevere with guide Robbie. He was excellent and took us to several restaurants must were in quaint cobbled lanes with rich history and tradition for making local delicacies. Historical facts and anecdotes also along the way. Thank you Robbie for a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended

A great experience with a wonderful and entertaining guide, Rocio. Rocio was very knowledgeable and shared interesting information and history during the walking food tour and let us sample tasty local foods. By the end of the tour we had eaten enough not to need any dinner. I would highly recommend this activity, especially with Rocio as a guide. The walk which about 2 - 3 hours was easy, requiring just navigating the cobblestones as the greatest challenge.

This was our second Secret Foods Tour, with the first one being in Paris. And for sure, this Trastevere tour did not disappoint. Robbie, our guide, has been living in Tome and knew many of the ins and outs on history and the local food scene. Trastevere has many restaurants and eateries to choose from and we certainly hit the high notes on this tour. From marinated Roman artichosetved with rocket and mozzarella, to Enzo’s stuffed zucchini leaves battered a d fried, amazing Suppli, hrough cacio e Pepe, and rigatoni all'Amatriciana, authentic slow roasted porchetta and a whipped cream in a brioche and finally, some excellent gelato. We explored and experienced authentic Roman foods that were fresh and very flavorful. If you’re seeking to digest Rome in a fun and exciting way, this gastronomy tour is well worth your time and money. From our experience, these tours can sell out quickly. What could be better than eating your way through one of Rome’s oldest neighborhoods?
