My husband and I took the limousine bus from Cat Ba to Ninh Binh. The bus was clean and comfortable and the driver drove safely without much horn beeping. (I've read about crazy-driving Vietnamese bus drivers who lay on their horn every 10 seconds.) Each seat had a seatbelt that we used anyway. The bus was prompt and picked us up at our hotel in Cat Ba town and dropped us at our hotel in Tam Coc, which is about 4 miles from Ninh Binh. Docking them one star because none of the USB ports on the four seats we tried worked. Overall a good experience though that I would recommend, especially given the ride cost us only $7 USD each!
It was great to have confirmation and communication prior to pickup. Went smoothly. Appreciated the stops. A bit of a problem when we got to tam coc due to traffic. Understand need for us to walk but more explanation and support Woukd have beeen good
This "VIP" experience was horrible. The van was nothing special, an 8 seater with cheesy disco lights on the ceiling - no WiFi and seats weren't comfortable. The driverspoke.absolutely no English and had zero interest in helping anyone - spent most of the time talking on the phone while driving. Additionally, he drove like a maniac barely avoiding an accent a couple of times. When we finally got to Ninh Binh 1 1/2 later than promised, it took an extra hour to drop off all the other passengers. We would have been better off taking the regular bus to a central point & taking a taxi to our place.
And very comfortable way of traveling. Spacious seats and relaxed transport. We have used it a number of times and only positively. By the way, it was quickly arranged online via Whatsapp (Nov 2024).
