Transfagarasan fantastico viaggio su strada da Brasov

We spent the day with Alin on a private tour and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly very passionate about Romania, which really brought the experience to life. Part of the road is closed at this time of year due to snow, so we took the cable car up instead — which was a great experience with stunning views at the top. Just make sure to wear proper snow boots as it’s very snowy up there! Overall, a fantastic day with a genuinely lovely guide. Highly recommend.

Great experience it ended up just being my mom and I and he was able to accommodate for us. The drive from Brasov was easy and the views on the highway spectacular. We had lots of great conversations and he provided some great local tips.

I had the chance to explore the Transfăgărășan in December 2024, during a time when the road was closed due to heavy snowfall. Although car access was impossible, we embarked on a spectacular adventure by cable car to Bâlea Lake, entering a true winter fairytale. The highlight of the trip was visiting the Ice Hotel – a breathtaking place where art, light, and silence merge into an unforgettable experience. We ended the journey by crossing the mountain through the famous Bâlea Tunnel, a mysterious passage leading us into an even whiter world. This wasn’t just a mountain getaway – it was a return to simplicity, stillness, and wonder. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the support and flawless organization of Alin Săucă, to whom I am deeply grateful. He is a dedicated guide, detail-oriented, and truly passionate about what he does. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking well-organized trips and authentic experiences in nature. Alin was an amazing guide/driver throughout the whole journey from Brasov to Transfagarasan. He created a safe space where we felt at ease and he shared his knowledge about history and lots of amazing facts of the town and itinerary. He communicated fluently in English which made our trip enjoyable. He advised us on restaurants. He took us to great spots to enjoy the breathtaking views along Transfagarasan. The views was amazing. The driver told us about every possible inconivinient and adjust the tour plan. The journey by car was very nice. The driver told us lots of interesting information about the region and area. We are very recommend the tour with Welcome to Transylwania :)
