Tour via terra dell'Upper Mustang

Descrizione

Kesh from Himalaya Mentor is a master of flexibility and fast action when situations become tricky. We booked all directly with HM and from the first moment onwards we felt in reliable and safe hands. Very quick and complete responses to our questions, very reliable, punctual and courteous services in Nepsl and what was most important: we were unlucky with the weather, flight cancellations, land slides and gliding’s made it necessary to adjust our plans frequently. Kesh made all work within the given timeframe. It was amazing to see his problem solving capabilities! We warmly recommend Kesh and his guides, drivers and porters. In a country where nature is still unpredictable you wish for a local partner of this immense reliability and trustworthiness. Kesh was always reachable- even in the middle of the night. Himalayan Mentor - highly recommended! Claudio &Terese
I recently embarked on a journey to Nepal with the help of Himalayan Mentor, and it was an experience beyond my greatest expectations! From the very first moment I reached out to the agency, their service was impeccable. The team was highly professional, attentive to detail, and truly dedicated to making this trip unforgettable. Every aspect of the itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing me and my family to immerse in the breathtaking beauty and culture of Nepal. The guided tours were informative and engaging, offering deep insights into the local traditions, history, and stunning landscapes. Highlights included visiting the amazing temples in Kathmandu valley and the unforgetable and surprising region of Mustang. Known for its stunning landscapes, unique culture, and mystical beauty, Mustang was an experience like no other. Himalayan Mentor ensured that I could fully appreciate this remote and fascinating area through well-organized itineraries and the knowledgeable of our fantastic Guide Prabin Kharel. The journey through Mustang’s arid valleys, ancient monasteries, and picturesque villages felt like stepping into another world. I wholeheartedly recommend Himalayan Mentor to anyone looking to discover Nepal with ease, comfort, and authenticity. This trip has left me with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for the beauty of Nepal. Thank you, Himalayan Mentor, for making this dream come true!
We went for a 12 day upper mustang tour, combined hike and (private) jeep. We had an amazing experience; upper mustang is a one of a kind destination with extremely beautiful nature and a very special and rich culture. Highly recommend going! As for the organization: Tops: - Very nice guide and driver, which showed flexibility and took an effort to listen to our wishes - The combination of hiking and Jeep for 12 days really enabled us to see Upper Mustang to its full extent - Kesh made an effort to get our permits in a short time window in Kathmandu, allowing us to fly to Pokhara the same day Improvement points: - Itinerary could be improved at certain points, having less empty afternoons and seeing a bit more as well as have the hikes more thought out. Also had Kora La (border) in the itinerary, even though the area is closed for foreigners for a while. - Himalayan Mentor hugely charged extra for add-ons (hotel upgrade in Lo Manthang), asking several times the actual price. We did an upgrade ourselves later in the itinerary (instead of upgrading through Himalayan Mentor), which was much better. Don’t forget you might have to pay a bit extra for the guide/driver in that case as well (which is fair of course). - Pre travel communication could be better: it would be nice to know we should bring towels, toilet paper etc, which guest houses we stay and the itinerary could be more detailed. All in all we recommend Himalayan Mentor, but I suggest making clear agreements on the improvement points.
Dear Hugo, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent trip to Upper Mustang via 4WD drive. It was truly heartening to learn that you thoroughly enjoyed your experience. I understand that you provided some suggestions for improvement, and I would like to address those with clarity and transparency. Firstly, I want to clarify that the itinerary for your trip was adjusted based on a request from your mother, resulting in an 11-day trip instead of 12 days as mentioned in your review. While I wasn't aware of any prior communication between you and your mother regarding the trip, the itinerary provided detailed information on walking and driving hours, distances, and points of interest for each day. It appears that your mother opted out of hiking, leaving you with more free time during the day due to differing physical abilities. Regarding the border situation, we had hoped to include a visit to the Karo La border, but unfortunately, it remained closed during your visit. I recall informing you about this in Kathmandu, where we discussed alternatives in case the border remained inaccessible. It seems that amidst the stress of misplaced luggage, this information may not have been fully absorbed. Consequently, your guide took you to the remarkable Konchokling cave, offering a splendid view of the Forbidden Land. Regarding your stay at a luxury lodge in Lo Manthang, I understand your concern about the higher costs compared to local tea house lodges. However, the pricing reflects the premium amenities and services provided. As both you and our staff stayed at the same lodge, the costs incurred were uniform. It's important to consider the value beyond just the room price. Regarding the packing list, I apologize if there was any confusion. I had communicated all necessary information to your mother via email, including details about the lodges and a packing list. It appears there may have been a disconnect in relaying this information to you. Moving forward, I will ensure clearer communication channels to avoid such misunderstandings. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and I appreciate your constructive criticism. It serves as a learning opportunity to enhance our services for future customers. Rest assured, I will take your suggestions into account to improve our processes and ensure better communication with all members of our tours. Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back for another memorable adventure in the future. Warm regards, Kesh
