Le scintillanti acque blu del Lago Titicaca ospitano le famose Isole Galleggianti di Uros create dall'uomo. Queste isole e le loro abitazioni, che risalgono a un'epoca pre-inca, sono fatte completamente di canne di totora, una pianta autoctona di giunco che cresce nel lago. Con una visita guidata, conosci gli abitanti che hanno formato una piccola comunità e scopri come queste isole restano a galla. Nel pomeriggio, visita l'isola di Amantani e vivi la cultura unica della gente del posto.

Verremo a prendervi dal vostro hotel nel centro storico di Puno tra le 0645 e le 0700 del mattino. Prima di salire a bordo della barca a motore per l'isola di Uros, faremo una breve sosta al molo della barca, dove è possibile acquistare snack e acqua in bottiglia. Una volta che ti saresti sistemato sulla barca, un musicista locale ti avrebbe accolto con una musica folkloristica andina. La nostra guida presenterà quindi se stesso e il capitano della barca prima di darvi una breve descrizione dell'itinerario della giornata sul lago navigabile più alto del mondo, il Lago Titicaca. La nostra prima tappa sarà nelle iconiche isole galleggianti di Uros. Durante il viaggio dalla terraferma a una delle isole Uros, puoi vedere le piante di totora che crescono sul lago Titicaca. Costituiscono la fonte base di cibo e, allo stesso tempo, fungono da sistema di mantenimento che gli Uros devono perpetuare l'esistenza delle isole Mentre la barca attraccherebbe, le donne del posto vestite con abiti locali porterebbero un caloroso benvenuto nel luogo che chiamano casa. Il capo dell'isola avrebbe quindi dimostrato come costruiscono queste isole usando le piante di totora e condividerebbe alcune parole nella loro lingua madre (Aymara). I nativi qui sono noti per i loro prodotti artigianali, quindi puoi acquistarne alcuni se lo desideri. Avrai quindi la possibilità di navigare sulla tradizionale barca a remi totora (10 suole) per l'isola principale di Uros. Se lo si desidera, è possibile ottenere il passaporto timbrato qui come souvenir. Da qui, inizieremo il nostro giro in barca per le isole Taquile. Puoi camminare fino al ponte aperto sul livello superiore della barca e ottenere alcune foto delle isole galleggianti che attraverseresti.
Sfondando le verdi acque del lago Titicaca in Perù è la piccola isola di Taquile dove gli abitanti del villaggio locale hanno creato una costante industria di artigianato a maglia, che sono lavorati a maglia dagli uomini della comunità. Taquile ospita una popolazione quechua di 2.000 persone, principalmente agricoltori, pescatori e soprattutto tessitori rinomati. Tuttavia, a differenza della visione spesso tragicamente tradizionale della maglieria e del lavoro tessile come proprietà delle donne, sono gli uomini dell'isola di Taquile che svolgono gran parte del delicato lavoro di filatura. L'artigianato si divide tra tessitura e maglieria; le donne fanno la tessitura, mentre il lavoro a maglia è il lavoro dell'uomo. Ci fermeremo per il pranzo in un ristorante locale. Dopo pranzo, intorno alle 14:30, salirai a bordo della barca per tornare a Puno. Verso le 04:30 di sera, la barca attraccherà al molo di Puno. Ti incontreremo al tuo arrivo e ti riaccompagneremo al tuo hotel nel centro storico della città.

We did this full day trip to Lake Titicaca and it was just perfect. From the guide service to transport, everything was smooth. The locals were welcoming and friendly. We even toured the local home on the floating islands. It was a perfect day trip.

While the tour was amazing I think there should be more transparency on what occurs on the tour. My travel companion was having a little difficulty with the altitude, so we were taking it easy. I booked this tour thinking it was a cruise, you go to the floating islands, have lunch and then go back. Nowhere in the description did it say to have lunch you have to hike 1km up a hill (it may be further). If this was in the description I would have cancelled but instead we were left with the choice of climbing a hill with my companion sucking on oxygen or sit on a boat for 2 hours waiting. As I said previously the floating islands were wonderful but I think the walk to the lunch should be mentioned for travellers to make an informed choice.

Pick up was on time , we had a great guide and boat driver. The guide gave us so much information about the history and how the islands were built , the wildlife etc and the lake . The island we visited was great and had a female chief - impressive. They showed us through using models and materials how the islands are constructed. The lunch was delicious and they catered for my vegan diet . Very good day .

This review isn’t aimed directly at the tour company but rather the experience on the islands. We arrived at Uros island and my partner and I found it to be rather uncomfortable. You are ushered into the local’s homes, they dress you in their clothes and then proceed to guilt trip you into buying their stuff. We also were told each island only has 1 visit every 3 weeks to further guilt trip you but upon research we found this was definitely false!! We found it to be extremely inauthentic and choreographed for your money. On top of that, we were directed onto their boat where they take you to another island. Yet once you are sat on the boat and the boat has left the island, they come around collecting money from you which isn’t optional! It is complete manipulation. The second island is much better but still very staged and it makes me sad that the people now completely rely on tourism to live. Definitely do not pay £42 either as you can get it for 30soles the day before at the port in Puno :)

A big thanks to our guide, Abel for making this trip a memorable one. The tour company was very well organized and easy to reach out to. Miluska, helped me plan the tour and provided all information to plan everything smoothly. The price included all admission fee and the group size was very small, around 12 people. Highly recommend for someone interested in knowing more about local traditions and customs and doing this on the way in or out of Puno to Bolivia.

Lake Titicaca is simply spectacular, with a breathtaking view that captivates from the first moment. The boat tour was very nice, especially when you can be on the bow and enjoy the panorama in all its magnitude. The visit to the islands of the Uros was a beautiful and enriching experience, ideal for learning about their culture and traditions.
