We loved our boat ride to Uros islands, the natives were happy to welcome us into their homes and teach us about their way of living. We were able to travel to multiple reed islands— a truly unique and once in a life time chance to experience their culture. We then traveled to the island of Tequile which was our favorite part and boasted some of the most breathtaking views we have seen in Peru. We were given demonstrations of dancing, shampoo making, etc. and provided with a delicious traditional meal of the island. We cannot recommend this experience enough!
I rate this experience as an average but not by the fault of the company but by the whole concept of visiting lago Titikaka. Our tour guide(Samuel) was great, funny and very helpful. The tour was exactly as we expected and it will deliver all its promises. Unfortunately the experience seems more like visiting a circus not a natural reserve. People are simulating how they live and it all seems to us bit forced. If you like this kind of attraction you will enjoy it unfortunately we are not really into big group tours and those kind of simulation. We knew what we were getting into so we were not disappointed and the company does a decent job and our guide did great. So if you will be visiting lago I can recommend this company.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we are especially proud to hear that our guide, Samuel, did a great job and that you found our company's service to be exactly as promised. Regarding your comments about the experience feeling like a 'circus' or 'simulation,' we'd like to offer a local perspective. The Uros people have a tradition of living on these floating islands that stretches back over 500 years. While they now have access to modern life in the city, they choose to remain on the islands out of a deep and powerful sense of cultural identity. What may come across as a performance is their way of proudly sharing this unique, living heritage with others. You also mentioned not being fond of large group tours, which is a preference we completely understand. We do offer other tour types for those seeking a different experience, including fully private tours with a private boat and guide, or the option of a shared boat with a private guide to personalize the journey. Your recommendation of our company means a great deal to us. We are sorry that the concept of the Titicaca tour wasn't to your personal taste, but we are very glad you chose to travel with us and that we delivered on our promises. Thank you again for your valuable feedback.
The tour to Uros with Incalake was great. Very punctual and the guide super friendly. The boat ride on the lake is the best, what a view. The islands themselves are interesting, but feel somewhat touristy. Still, people are friendly and it's curious to see how they live. Highly recommended. Uros is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you're the age you are
Had a brilliant day. Thank you Samuel for looking after us so well and being very informative. Highly recommend Inca Lakes for a tour.
Taquile Island is spectacular, the visit to the Uros can be much better (culturally, identity and respectfully). The handling of the tour was fine, but I don't know felt particular. They talk about speedboat, but it's not. Cash must be brought in.
This is the standard tourist boat trip with 30 or so other people to visit a floating island and then go to Taquile. It's very touristy. The guide flips from Spanish to English. The microphone on our boat wasn't working properly so every third syllable was lost. The Uros part felt part performance/part zoo - but I guess it's the one way for the traditions to survive. I wish i had booked it through my hotel, since I am sure the experience would have been exactly the same but it would have been half the price. Don't feel the need to secure your seat with Viator. There are dozens of boats doing this trip every day.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. We understand that group tours can sometimes feel very touristy, and we strive to make every journey as enjoyable as possible. We regret the issues with the microphone on board; we’ll ensure this is addressed to improve communication for future travelers. We appreciate your comments and are always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our guests. Thank you again for your valuable insights, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
