Mattina verrai prelevato dal tuo hotel a Chennai. Trascorri la giornata esplorando Marina Beach, il centro culturale di Chennai del tempio Mylapore Kapaleeshwar e la Basilica di San Thome, seguita da un pranzo tradizionale dell'India meridionale in un ristorante locale e visita il santuario di Ramakrishna Math , seguita da una visita al Fort Saint George del XVII secolo prima di tornare al tuo hotel.

Itinerario
Cammina sulla spiaggia di Marina, lungo il tratto principale di Marina Beach lungo 3 km e passerai partite di cricket, aquiloni volanti, indovini, mercati del pesce, torrefattori di mais e famiglie che si godono la brezza marina.
Visitiamo un'organizzazione monastica unica chiamata Ramakrishna Math, dedicata a Sri Ramakrishna, il santo del XIX secolo. Gli ospiti potranno vedere il tempio universale, il santuario, un bellissimo Mantapam, un museo multimediale e un'incantevole biblioteca.
Fort St George è la prima fortezza inglese costruita nel 1644 dalla Compagnia delle Indie Orientali. Visiteremo la chiesa di St Mary, la più antica chiesa anglicana dell'India. Il nostro evangelista culturale ti condurrà in un museo caratteristico ricco di reliquie dei tempi coloniali e racconterà la storia di come la compagnia dell'India orientale si sia trasformata da una società commerciale in una sovrana dell'India!
Ci dirigiamo verso Mylapore, un antico quartiere residenziale di Chennai la cui storia risale all'epoca dei romani, quando commerciava pepe e stoffe pregiate con Roma in cambio d'oro! Visitiamo il magnifico tempio di Kapaleeshwar. Costruito nel VII secolo questo tempio è dedicato al Signore Shiva. Costruito in un'architettura in stile dravidico, ha un imponente "Gopuram". Gli ospiti possono aspettarsi un'esperienza affascinante di rituali e serenità all'interno del tempio. Il nostro evangelista culturale demistifica gli avvenimenti nel tempio!
Questo è un tempio dedicato a Sai Baba, il grande mistico che unì indù e musulmani e predicò l'amore universale e la fratellanza. Il tempio è costruito con marmo bianco e ha una lampada accesa da più di 100 anni
Esploreremo il memoriale di Swami Vivekananda che fu un grande filosofo. I suoi discorsi al Parlamento Mondiale delle Religioni tenuti nel settembre 1893 lo resero famoso come oratore di diritto divino e come messaggero della saggezza indiana nel mondo occidentale. Il lunedì è chiuso e visiteremo invece l'Egmore Museum.
Visitiamo la famosa Basilica di San Thome, la chiesa principale dell'arcidiocesi cattolica di Madras e Mylapore. Possiamo vedere le reliquie di San Tommaso qui. È una delle sole tre chiese al mondo che è stata costruita sulla tomba di un apostolo. Gli altri due sono la Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano e la Cattedrale di Santiago de Compostela in Spagna.

We had a nice private day tour of Chennai city with tour guide Rajesh. He gave a great intro to city and sites. Ended the day with shopping areas as well. We enjoyed it very much. Worth day tour.

Really good tour around the major sites, our guide was very friendly and helpful but English and explanations could have been a bit better and more expansive. Good driver, felt very safe.

Comfortable travelling Our guide, Venkat, was extremely pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and a joy to spend time with.
