Booked day trip via Tui. Picked up at the hotel and returned there. Beautiful tour in the mountains with numerous stops and an included lunch. Excellent guidance with special thanks to the guide Astrid who could explain everything to us in Dutch.
Tom and Lissandro were great in terms of safe driving and tour delivery. While the tour was good, lunch comes very late on the tour schedule. This especially impacts the families with children. Moving lunch earlier in the day or including snacks on the bus would be a welcome improvement. Additionally, potentially removing at least one stop would give a little more time at each stop. That would allow a family an opportunity to pick up a quick snack and shop for souvenirs. Overall, it was a good experience. We learned a ton about the island and got great pictures!
Tom was very informative he was a fountain of knowledge. Explained to everyone and was helpful to all on trip and the bus driver was excellent
Hello! Thank you very much for your lovely comment! We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that Tom and the driver made your experience such a positive one. We hope to welcome you again on another occasion!Kind regards, First Minute Travel
Really enjoyable with a small group of tourist, did get left wondering what all the in jokes were about in Spanish as not huge amount of English spoken outside of essential stuff.
We spent most of the 8 hours in the bus, so it wasn't great. We stopped at places where they wanted us to buy food and souvenirs. The tour was too long for me and my friend. The constant information being provided in 3 languages was a bit overwhelming. It was a bit too much and I wish we had chosen a tour more carefully, something shorter and more enjoyable. It is good value and they had very nice staff.
This is an excellent whirlwind tour of the island, with a running commentary throughout by a highly knowledgeable tour guide. It takes you to ancient & historic points of interest across the island; gives you a flavour of the "hidden" Gran Canaria by traveling to beautiful mountain villages & towns via the breathtaking Canarian landscape.
This was hands down one of the best tours we have been on. Having looked for a good tour of the Island with availability, I came across this on good old trip advisor and despite only having a couple of reviews, I went with it. As I use the app a lot I trusted that my booking would be safe etc and it was. You definitely get your monies worth on the trip as many have limited stops etc but this one fits as much in a possible which was great. We were collected from our hotel and the group was taken to Maspalomas where everyone was directed towards the coach they were taking for the day. The return transfer was also included n the very well priced tour. The guide Tom was brilliant, very approachable and knowledgeable, speaking Spanish, English, and German on the day. We had 7 stops and although they were short stops, each was long enough to look around, take photos, get a drink, and go to the toilet etc. Stops: Aguimes - this small quiet town was very pretty with various statues about the place and a central square. Isabella’s cave house - up in the mountains we got to see a room in a traditional cave house. The best part of this stop were the amazing and stunning views. Teror - was a larger but traditional town in the mountains with shops and restaurants etc. The tour guide recommended a souvenir shop and honestly it was the best we saw on our whole holiday. Very well made and quality gifts etc. Zamora - was the restaurant where we stopped for lunch at I think 1400 metres up. The views were breathtaking. Lunch was 3 courses with a variety of choices and a drink. There were 3 or 4 tour buses when we stopped and the lunch was served like a well oiled machine on mass. Unfortunately for us the quality wasn’t there and we saw so many lovely looking little places we would have preferred on the journey. They were just serving too many people and it reminded me of going for lunch at school. Tajeda- we stopped to see peaks and Pico de las Nieves. This was truly stunning. Tunta- this was a rest stop at a restaurant and bar where they served local fresh juice. Again some amazing views. Aloe Vera farm - this was our last stop. You do not tour the farm but get a talk/demonstration from the staff and some time in the shop. The products are very good quality even though slightly expensive, I guess you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this trip.
I wanted to review this tour company since I think it deserve a good review and since there are so few reviews of them in tripadvisor. We booked this tour because we wanted to see more of Gran Canaria, and the tour day was the chosen day that was ok for us. There were about 14 people in this tour, so we were going by a mini bus. Our tourguide Tom was speaking german and english, mostly because there were both german and english speakers in the group tour. He had alot of information to share and was a very good guide. I will describe the tour since there is not enough information abour the tour on the net. The tour is like this: 1. First pick up from your hotel in south of Gran Canaria 2. Aguimes, we got 20 min in this town. There is a square where you can take photos of a church and there is a statue of a donkey (part of the canary history). 3. Cave houses, we got about 30 min here. We got to visit a cave house where a lady lives with her doughters. Cave houses are passed by generations from the canary ancestors. 4. Teror, we got 20 min in this town. Very nice small town with buildings with tree balconies. 5. Lunch in a resturant near Lanzarote town. The resturant is alone on the mountain and it is here all the tour buses is comming. Lunch was about 50 min and cost 13 euros. It is a three meal curse. 6. The mountains and Pico de las Nieves. We got a 15 min stop to take pictures of the area and buy souvenires if we wanted. 7. Last stop is the aloe vera farm, but we did not get to do this since there was a fire by the road to the farm, and we had to turn around back home. All in all it was a great tour. You have to expect a long day on the bus, so it is ok for people that cannot walk too much. We got lots of history and information about Gran Canaria both today and in the past. We just wish that we could stay longer in Teror and skip the lunch, but it seems it is the same in all tours in Gran Canaria. I will recommend this tour, Tom is a great guide :D
Basically, this tour was perfectly fine. German speaking guide, clean, well air-conditioned bus with tinted windows. Pick up at the hotel or at a collection point. The first part on the east coast including Las Palmas is rather disappointing. This is due to the barren landscape and industrial areas. Part of the route is already known from the transfer (Airport-Maspalomas). However, once you reach the north you will be rewarded with a great fertile landscape. The stations are suitable for photos throughout and the information from the tour guide gives a good overview of the country and people. We drove really high into the mountains and had a really good bus driver. Negative to mention is lunch (optional for 12€ incl. drinks). This has simple canteen level, the Service in the restaurant is underground and the restaurant itself is used for mass handling (paper tablecloths, dirty windows). The view into the valley was fine, however. Another negative point is the completely unnecessary visit to the aloe vera plantation. This is then the sales event section where the alleged panacea aloe vera is touted. The healing effects are mostly not proven and can usually be attributed to the additives (vitamin C, B12, menthol). Of course, these products are completely overpriced... Somewhat annoying on the return journey is the return of the tour participants, as several stations/hotels are approached. That can be up to 1. Take an hour. Basically, however, this tour is well suited to get an overview of the island. Some typical products (marzipan, rum) can be tasted for free. The information from the tour guide and the driving performance of our bus driver were very good.
Very impressive exursion. Nice and attentive guide. Fortunately a skilled driver in the winding and steep works. Highly recommended. Seen a lot in 8 hours.
