The level of disorganization was top tier. They were 50 mins late picking us up, the driver was rude and the tour guide and driver spoke poorly of us all day thinking we did not speak or understand Spanish. To start, I spoke to the tour company who told me who my driver was. Then I contacted the driver about pick up. He told us to be ready at 7:30am but no one showed up until 8:20. I reached out to the tour company after 20 minutes but no one ever responded. The driver then messages us about the location that we had discussed the night before. Then tells me “the driver” will be with us shortly. I thought I was speaking with the driver already but I guess not. Someone else came and picked us up and took us to a gas station meet up point. With no communication they left us there. We had no idea who our contact was or where we are supposed to be. Eventually we make it to our group. The driver asks if we speak English, I say yes. From there he just seemed to have an attitude but only with us. He made announcements in Spanish with little translation. Made a couple stops along the way again speaking in Spanish so I never knew what was really going on. Now I’m not one to expect others to speak English in their country but I booked this tour because it stated English and my Spanish isn’t fluent enough. We get to the first stop and meet our tour guide. He hands us all off to another tour guide. Assuming he didn’t want to walk the stairs to the cave. That tour guide Feliz was the nicest person we saw all day and he wasn’t event with us. Once we get back into the van the tour guide and driver immediately begin speaking about us. Assuming we didn’t understand but my son speaks Spanish. This went on in between stops most of the day. Other passengers on the van giggled at things being said making us feel like outcasts all day. It wasn’t until the end of the tour that the tour guide learned my son spoke Spanish. How can you treat patrons of your business so poorly? Horrible day.
Transportation Issues and Poor Communication From the beginning, there was confusion regarding the exact pickup location whether it was inside the resort lobby or outside the gate. I had to reach out to the tour guide multiple times (seven in total) due to poor reception on his end. On the day of the pickup, I contacted the guide again, who identified himself as the owner. I provided him with the resort’s name, address and confirmed I was waiting outside the gate. He responded by saying my resort, Impressive Premium Resort, didn’t exist and claimed it was closed neither of which was true. It seemed like an attempt to shift blame in case the driver couldn’t find me. When I asked if he could contact the driver to inform him of my location, he claimed he didn’t have the driver’s number. However, a few minutes later, the driver arrived and called out my name. I followed up with the owner again, and he said he had spoken with the driver contradicting his earlier statement. Overall, the experience was frustrating due to the owner’s dishonesty and poor communication regarding pickup confirmation. The only reason I rated this experience five stars was because of the second driver named Jose and the second, official tour guide (Leo) we met at Tres Ojos Caves. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and provided an excellent experience.
They picked us up in time at the point we coordinated they were in contact with us always and what I liked the most was the visit of the caves is beautiful photos there
