We visited Cairo with a private tour, they picked us up from the hotel in Hurghada and accompanied and guided us throughout the day. The journey is a bit heavy because of the road, but once you reach the Pyramids and the Egyptian museum all the tiredness goes away. Being a private tour we chose the things to visit (with an extra payment for things not scheduled). Our guide was Nagla, who speaks Italian and English. Very knowledgeable and very nice, she reads hieroglyphics and knows the most important things where to spend time or where to overlook. We spent 1.30h at the pyramids, 1.30h at the Egyptian museum and 2h at the citadel.
Very nice and sociable guide. He was able to balance the short time (since it's a 6 hour drive from Hurghada) and our desire to visit as many places as possible. His advice on which sites and museums to visit based on our needs and desires was very useful. The tour includes the possibility of visiting a museum of your choice and the pyramids (Cheops and sphinx) but with an extra charge it is also willing to take you to some other place of your choice to be agreed upon and based on the time you have available
