“Dove tutto ebbe inizio”: Sulla collina della Città di David, ben al di sotto del Muro Occidentale, la Città di Gerusalemme è nata migliaia di anni fa. Qui è dove la Bibbia e l'archeologia si incontrano. È un affascinante viaggio attraverso i misteri del passato, dal re Davide a Gesù di Nazaret, che assumono una nuova ed emozionante dimensione, e una vista panoramica dell'antica Gerusalemme, queste sono solo una parte delle esperienze che ti aspettano nel sito. Vieni a scoprire dove è nata Gerusalemme!
Il Muro Occidentale è il luogo più vicino al "Santo degli Agrifogli" del Monte del Tempio in cui gli ebrei possono pregare ed è stato al centro della preghiera, delle speranze e dei sogni degli ebrei per centinaia di anni. La santità è appetibile.
Questo museo è unico nella sua posizione: il seminterrato di un edificio residenziale. Ospita i resti archeologici di opulente ville del I secolo dC, molto probabilmente appartenenti a sacerdoti che prestarono servizio nel Tempio di Gerusalemme. Soprattutto, sono testimoni della distruzione di Gerusalemme da parte dei romani nel 70 d.C.
Sparse per il quartiere ebraico ci sono capsule del tempo archeologiche del suo passato antico e recente. Esploreremo questi siti e costruiremo lentamente il puzzle che costituisce la turbolenta storia di Gerusalemme.
Partendo da un osservatorio sul tetto dell'intera Città Vecchia e da una bellissima vista panoramica della Cupola d'Oro, esploreremo il collegamento di Gerusalemme all'Islam, cammineremo attraverso il bazar arabo con la sua combinazione di sito e suono, sapori e profumi. È anche un'opportunità per esercitare le tue capacità di negoziazione, dopotutto è il Medio Oriente.
Il quartiere cristiano ospita numerose chiese e campanili che rappresentano il mondo multiforme della cristianità, tempo permettendo visiteremo alcune "gemme segrete" sparse nei suoi vicoli. Ma saremo sicuri di fermarci nel luogo più importante della cristianità: la Chiesa del Santo Sepolcro.
La Chiesa del Santo Sepolcro è venerata dai cristiani di tutto il mondo come uno dei possibili luoghi per la crocifissione e la risurrezione di Gesù. Situato nel quartiere cristiano della Città Vecchia e gestito dalle Chiese cattolica, ortodossa, armena e copta, è considerato da molti "il sito più importante della cristianità".
Originariamente costruito da Erode il Grande come suo palazzo privato a Gerusalemme, che divenne la sede del governo di prefetti romani, re e regine cristiani e musulmani, il Museo della Cittadella è un tesoro di storia stratificata. Le sue gallerie ospitano bellissime mostre di diversi periodi storici della città, la sua torre più alta offre una vista mozzafiato a 360 gradi della città vecchia e nuova e i suoi recenti scavi custodiscono il segreto della possibile posizione del processo di Gesù per mano di Ponzio Pilato.
È qui che concludiamo il nostro viaggio, al culmine tra vecchio e nuovo. Sentiti libero di tornare ai vecchi mercati della città per fare shopping o dirigiti nei nuovi mercati e ristoranti della città. Gerusalemme ha molte altre storie da raccontare. Divertiti!

I’ve traveled a great deal internationally, but I’ve never had such an outstanding experience like this one. Uri commands a rare combination of exceptional knowledge of history, geography, and faith with a warmed-hearted care for deep, meaningful experience. We couldn't have had a better guide to Jerusalem. Uri Goldflam is not only an expert on the entire history of Israel and the city of Jerusalem but is able to teach us in a way that is easy to understand and retain the information. By the end of the tour, I understood why we started where we did. As the day progressed, I could see how it was tied together. From the topography, architecture, archeological sites, history of the faith, occupation of foreign governments, the destruction of and rebuilding of the city, Uri had a complete and comprehensive knowledge that he easily explained to us. At no point did I ever feel uncomfortable asking a question or asking for clarification. He also knows the best places to stop for lunch or a 😌 relaxing place to get an iced coffee. I can't wait to come back and hire Uri for other tours of Israel. This was educational, fun, and spiritual; everything and more I wanted out of our tour!!
