The trip was long but the Fes Medina was amazing. We had a great guide who speaks in English and made the connection about history and the place.
We traveled from Casablanca to Fez, leaving early in the morning. Mourad, our driver, punctual as usual, was waiting for us at our hotel. We were extremely pleased that he had mobile WiFi for us to use, which made the 3 ½-hr trip even more pleasant and productive. We appreciated Mourad and Navette4You for their thoughtfulness. The Fez tour by a local guide was extremely interesting. The ceramic co-op was fascinating, detailing the intricate work of the artisans. We walked the market from its highest point downhill past the Medersas, the Library and Mosque. Unfortunately, we could see little except the buildings’ exteriors. We were also somewhat disappointed with our guide, who didn’t have specific answers to many of our questions and was not particularly responsive to our preferences. Our Moroccan lunch was pleasant and filling. We stopped at a restored riad which housed a carpet-making co-op of women. The walking tour ended at the Chouwara Tannery, which was amazing; watching the workers hand wash, dye and dry the skins in and out of giant vats. It’s almost impossible to not purchase something from their factory showrooms! We were truly impressed with their skilled workmanship. We concluded our tour of Fez with a stunning panoramic view of the medina. An excellent end of the day was Mourad being right on time to pick us up after the local tour and drive us back to Casablanca safely, offering periodic commentary about the countryside and responding to all of our questions.

Fes is full of history and fantastic artisans. Be prepared to want to take everything home!!! Our driver, Mohammed was wonderful, conscious of rest stops on the long drive. Our guide, Ameena, was simply amazing. Ameena was full of insightful knowledge and local history. She was most accommodating and hospitable. I highly recommend this tour and hope that you are fortunate to have the driver and guide which we did.

Our trip to Fes, started with them arriving late. Then the passenger got out said we'd be driven to Fes and meet our guide there. He never got back in so we were a little confused but recovered quickly. Then I asked the driver Karim to stop us at a shop so we could grab breakfast. He acted as though he had no idea what I was talking about so I showed him the address and he still went clearly somewhere else(forgiveable) we didn't have access to a WiFi hotspot either which made getting directions impossible and he didn't bother to try on his phone to help me..luckily I was able to get the number to come up from a recommendation given by a previous guide in another tour and he called.. For the 3+hr ride from Casablanca to Fes he didn't speak to us and just blasted music. He found the most obnoxious english song playing station. He could've atleast asked if we were ok with the music, it's just courtesy. Instead, we were tortured with very bad music and me asking him to change it was pointless when I asked it to he changed he said no and laughed. Only time he lowered it was when he'd get on the phone. Finally reaching Fes we met up with our guide Amina, and began the tour. Suddenly we found out our driver could actually speak as he was super talkative to the guide once she got in the car(and it can't be reasoned away that he didn't speak good English, because first the tour company was suppose to send someone that would communicate, secondly I tried speaking Arabic to him and he barely said much of anything in response so that squashes that premise. Anyway beginning of the tour was enjoyable as we stopped at the ceramic shop and at overlooks of the city however the guide had already been attached to her phone even the lady at the shop looking for her saying she's always on the phone. Once entering the Medina it was such a rush at times I was trying to keep from slipping or tripping and falling on uneven ground because she was walking so fast and turning corners so frequent. This is when the feeling of being used began to settle in. There were plenty of little trinkets I would've liked to have stopped and looked at but it seemed as though she took us to shops that she wanted us to spend money at. We bought a few things that we really wanted but after awhile upon reaching yet another one of her chosen shops I became quite full after trying to figure out if shipping was possible and being told they'd figure it out after we pick stuff...um no sorry I'm not buying

It was an amazing day. The driver was a little bit shy and quiet but very very nice and always helpful when needed!
It's a quite long way from Casablanca to Fez and he was always very careful when driving.
In the beginning we were a little bit apprehensive with this trip because we read some negative issues about Fez but in the end it turned out to be an wonderful day, without any problem or even closer.
For that, we had the chance / luck to have the most awesome guide we had until today in our several trips - Amina Zakkari.
She was incredible with all the explanations but, mostly, by the way she drove us inside the Medina, and the way she controls all the small issues that can happen regarding people asking for money or some anoying sellers.
She was also VERY positive and honest about the stores we should visit and that are always included in this kind of tours. She asked what we wanted to see and avoid some others that we didn't want to see or repeat.
She took us to some hidden places and we found out the most exciting places of the Medina besides the touristic ones, always with a smile on her face and a remarkable sense of humor!
Congratulations to Amina! A true professional!

The guide was very instructive but little nervous when we refused leather bags, he lost his commision

The guide was very knowledgable of Fez and really knows his way around. We had lunch in a local restaurant, that was great!
