Fai un tour di Lantau con noi e visita il maestoso Grande Buddha e il meraviglioso villaggio su palafitte di Tai O. I nostri tour privati di Lantau durano 7 ore, 8 con un prelievo dall'hotel. Il tour privato di Lantau inizia con un giro sulla funivia di Ngong Ping. Sarai trattato con le viste più meravigliose del Lantau Country Park e dell'aeroporto mentre viaggi sul retro dell'isola per 25 minuti. La nostra destinazione è il famoso Grande Buddha. Da Ngong Ping, è un viaggio in autobus di 20 minuti a Tai O, affettuosamente conosciuta come la Venezia di Hong Kong. Tai O è uno dei pochi luoghi rimasti a Hong Kong dove è ancora possibile vedere le palafitte sull'acqua. Tai O era una grande comunità ma a causa del declino del settore della pesca, come Venezia, ora è principalmente una destinazione turistica, sia per i visitatori stranieri che per gli abitanti di Hong Kong che fuggono dal trambusto della città. Il Tai O è ancora noto per la sua produzione tradizionale di pasta di gamberi e per il suo colorato mercato di frutti di mare.

Tian Tan Buddha o il Big Buddha è la seconda statua di Buddha in bronzo all'aperto più grande al mondo. Seduto a 34 metri di altezza e rivolto a nord per guardare il popolo cinese, questo maestoso Buddha in bronzo attira pellegrini da tutta l'Asia. Gli occhi, le labbra, l'inclinazione della testa e della mano destra, che sono sollevate per offrire una benedizione a tutti, si uniscono per portare una profondità umiliante di carattere e dignità al massiccio Buddha, che ha impiegato 12 anni per essere completato. Sali i 268 gradini per dare un'occhiata più da vicino a questa straordinaria statua e goditi le ampie vedute delle montagne e del mare che si possono vedere dalla sua base.
Tai O è la patria del popolo Tanka, una comunità di pescatori che hanno costruito le loro case su palafitte sopra le piane di marea dell'isola di Lantau per generazioni. Queste insolite strutture sono interconnesse, formando una comunità molto unita che vive letteralmente sull'acqua. Il loro mondo incantevole è il paradiso dei fotografi. Il ponte levatoio a comando manuale che attraversa la stretta insenatura che divide la città ha sostituito un "traghetto" trainato da funi che ha funzionato per oltre 85 anni.
Una visita all'Heritage Hotel, risalente al 1902, questo edificio era in precedenza la stazione di polizia di Tai O e una delle prime stazioni di polizia costruite nei Nuovi Territori. Si trova su una piccola collina vicino al molo dei traghetti Tai O. L'edificio è stato rivitalizzato e convertito nel Tai O Heritage Hotel nel 2012. L'hotel comprende nove camere e suite in stile coloniale con vista sul mare e un ristorante sul tetto che serve specialità Tai O. I cannoni circostanti, i proiettori e le torri di guardia sono stati tutti restaurati. Qui ti verrà servito il pranzo alla fine del tour.

We had the most fabulous time with Alfred. He was well on time, friendly and enthusiastic about the day ahead. We went straight to the cable car station via the metro and were able to upgrade to a Crystal cabin which he helped us arrange. He took lots of photos for us and was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Hong Kong, past and present and great to chat to. The cable car ride is a must, as is Big Buddha and the Lotus Temple is beautiful. The bus ride to Tai O was comfortable and short and the village is very interesting. We enjoyed the boat trip and meal at the Hotel which is included and returned to our hotel a little tired but very happy. I can’t recommend this trip enough and would ask for Alfred again if we ever come back to Hong Kong.

We had an amazing day with our guide Alfred who was very knowledgeable and attentive and made the trip very enjoyable. Lantau is definitely worth a trip if you are in Hong Kong. The Big Buddha is a wonder, and the trip to Shek-O was also very interesting. Alfred showed us some different temples and explained the different religions and beliefs in detail. He also took lots of photos for us. Lunch was very good too. Our only issue was the listing, which we found misleading. We booked when we were already in Hong Kong so assumed that the price shown was in HK dollars, however it was actually in US dollars which we only realised when the cost appeared on our bank statement. Since we were in Hong Kong when we booked, and are UK based it never occurred to us that the price would be in US dollars, and the listing didn't show this - it just showed the dollar sign, not which dollars we would be paying. This made the cost a lot more than we had anticipated. Having said that, we had a great day, and would definitely recommend Alfred as a guide.

We had a fabulous day, we were very lucky to have Sinclair as our guide. He was amazing, he had some much knowledge, made the tour fun and he took lots of great pictures. He met us at our hotel and we took the underground train to the cable car. We had our own cable car and travelled up to the site of the Big Buddha. We climbed the steps to see the Buddha and also went inside. Sinclair talked us through the history. We then visited the monastery and temple before traveling by bus to the fishing village. We then took a boat around the harbor and searched for the white dolphin. We finished our day with a visit to the local shops and a delicious traditional meal. Sinclair made it a very memorable day.
