Un ottimo modo per visitare un nuovo paese (Montenegro) da Dubrovnik in questo tour privato e tornare in Croazia nel tardo pomeriggio lo stesso giorno. Ci fermeremo allo splendido punto panoramico di Verige nel mezzo della baia di Kotor e ti porteremo in giro per gli splendidi palazzi barocchi di Perast. Più tardi potrai goderti l'architettura, le affascinanti piazze e i caffè della città vecchia di Cattaro, salire sulla collina di Trojica per una vista panoramica sulla baia e finire nella città di Tivat/Porto Montenegro per una piacevole passeggiata e pranzo prima di tornare in Croazia. . Itinerario
Ci fermeremo a Verige, la parte più stretta del passaggio marittimo tra la parte interna ed esterna della baia di Kotor. Grandi opportunità fotografiche della parte interna della baia di Kotor, ripide montagne che scendono nel mare, città di Risan e Perast con barche a vela e una nave da crociera occasionale che attraversa lo stretto.
Perast è una piccola città medievale di soli 160 abitanti, situata tra la montagna verticale e la baia di Kotor. Durante la nostra sosta a Perast, gli ospiti avranno l'opportunità di ammirare i palazzi barocchi dei Capitani e le numerose chiese con la Cattedrale di San Nicola e il suo campanile, il più alto di tutta la baia di Kotor. Di fronte alla città ci sono 2 isole: Our Lady of the Rocks e Saint George Island. Nostra Signora delle Rocce è un'isola artificiale nel 17.ct con la splendida chiesa e il museo di Barque e può essere visitata con un breve giro in barca privata da Perast.
All'arrivo a Cattaro, un tempo città-stato indipendente, e dal 14.ct sotto l'influenza veneziana, avrai tempo per esplorare le sue stradine, le piazze soleggiate e le chiese seguite dal tempo per il pranzo (facoltativo). Ti suggeriamo di entrare nella cattedrale romanica di San Trifone, nel Museo Marittimo di Cattaro e nella chiesa ortodossa serba di San Nicola. Possibile salita al Forte di San Giovanni sopra la città di Cattaro (750 piedi di altitudine). La tua guida ti spiegherà in anticipo tutti i siti importanti e ti consegnerà la mappa gratuita della città per esplorarla da solo.
Il passo collinare di Trojica si trova tra Cattaro e Grbalj. Faremo 2 soste fotografiche panoramiche. Una fermata sarebbe appena prima del passo, così gli ospiti possono godere della vista della parte interna della baia con Kotor nascosto in fondo. La seconda sosta fotografica è subito dopo il passo con splendide viste sulla baia di Kotor, sull'Isola dei Fiori e sulla città di Tivat, sul suo aeroporto e sul porto turistico.
La città di Tivat era una base navale militare per la marina nazionale jugoslava, ma ha subito un rinnovamento turistico all'inizio degli anni 2000, dove la base navale è stata trasformata in un porto turistico di megayacht di lusso e una città alberghiera / turistica adiacente alla città storica di Tivat. Fai una passeggiata lungo il suo vivace lungomare soleggiato e fai uno spuntino o pranza in uno dei tanti ristoranti alla moda di Porto Montenego o della città di Tivat più tradizionali.
Durante un breve viaggio in traghetto di 15 minuti attraverso la parte stretta della baia di Kotor, gli ospiti possono uscire dal veicolo e fare splendide foto della baia, della chiesa di S. Arcangelo e dei piccoli villaggi di Lepetane e Kamenari.

We enjoyed our trip to Montenegro. Our guide Baldo Stanos was great, we especially liked how he brought the recent history of the region to life from his personal lens. In Montenegro, Our Lady of the Rocks is a great location with an interesting story. The ancient city of Kotor is nice but was crowded given a couple of cruise ships were docked in the bay right outside its walls. The region is beautiful, and we really enjoyed learning more about it.

As a group of six ladies from Haiti, we were looking for an unforgettable experience, and he delivered beyond our expectations. We had been traveling in Greece and Croatia for one month. Clearly, the highlight of our trip was our tour from Dubrovnik to Montenegro with our guide Miho. The day started early, but flew by with his informative presentations throughout the day as well as his humorous stories. If there was a rating above five stars, we would assign it to him. This is a must do tour. We cannot thank him and Doria enough for our amazing day!

We took a lovely daytrip to Montenegro. There was some confusion, after confirmation and payment (I think the driver was sick), but the company was able to accommodate us if we were willing to move the trip by a day. Our driver, Meta, was very knowledgeable and eager to share his information during the drive. Meta stayed in the car at each stop, which was fine with us. But if you are looking for a guide to walk with you, this is not the company to use. It was a wonderful informative day and the price was very reasonable compared to other quotes we received. However, we did not stop at 2 of the photo op locations listed on their website (Verige and Mt Vrmac).

A fun day full of activities. First , our driver Miho drove us to Kotor. He showed us sights along the way and educated us about the history of Croatia and Montenegro. He was really outstanding. Then we explored the old city. Our guide was informative and friendly. On the way back we stopped at the vineyard with an unimaginable view. We chose not to go to the church on the island because it was too crowded. Highly recommended!

On paper it sounds like a wonderful day - but in reality it is 4-5 hours of driving in terrible congested road conditions with slow and incompetent crossings at the Montenegro border. Our driver, Mladen, did his best, was informative and friendly, and it was not fault that the day was ruined by the travel and the horrendous crowds once reaching our main destination, Kotor. Two huge cruise ships had reached port, so Old Kotor was overrrun. Awful experience. The couple of highlights were our time on The Lady of the Rocks, which we got to with few people, before other tourists started coming; and the viewpoint of Kotor Bay. Montenegro’s infrastructure and road quality was completely inadequate for the needs of the country.

We do, however, want to respectfully clarify that many of the challenges you encountered including traffic congestion, long delays at the Montenegro border, and unexpected crowd levels due to cruise ship arrivals, are unfortunately beyond our company’s control. These are regional issues that even the most carefully planned itineraries cannot avoid, particularly during high tourist season. While we monitor these conditions closely and do our best to adjust where possible, road infrastructure and border operations in Montenegro are managed by government authorities, and local conditions can change rapidly and without notice. Same applies for the cruise ship arrivals that can also change at the last minute. That said, we are glad to hear you found value in the peaceful experience at Our Lady of the Rocks and the stunning views over Kotor Bay. We share your frustration when elements outside our control affect our guests’ experience, but as mentioned, this is something we are not able to have an influence on, despite our best planning and preparation.
