This a great way to customize your tour if you have a very short time in Dehli. I was picked up promptly at the hotel by my driver, Akther who is very knowledgeable about Dehli. Quite frankly, I enjoyed his insights better than the actual guide. We started in Jama Masjid then continued on to a viaduct like place then Ghandhi’s Smirti. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Ghandhi’s life and his ideology and could’ve spent my whole day there. I must say, the “hygienic” restaurant that my guide recommended was not the best. It was clean but I felt like I was going to a disco early in the afternoon and the food was nothing to write home about. We then proceeded to the “government approved” shops where I felt like I was taken through floor after floor of overpriced goods that you could probably buy cheaper somewhere else. I did not purchase anything. I think it is a waste of time. The highlight of this tour is my visit to the National Museum which had a real good collection of artifacts from all over India. Overall, it was a very good tour with an excellent driver - Akther!
