Arrivati al villaggio di Chuxi, per prima cosa andrai al ponte di osservazione per avere una vista panoramica di Chuxi Tulou, che prima era stata scambiata per dischi volanti o base missilistica da parte di informazioni straniere. Attraverserai il fiume Chuxi e poi andrai da una famiglia locale di Hakka per un pranzo tradizionale cinese. Goditi il cibo locale Hakka e il loro speciale vino di riso fatto in casa!
Dopo pranzo visiterai l'edificio di Jiqing che ha una storia di oltre 580 anni. Provate su quelle scale costruite con legno, non si usa un solo chiodo. Visiterai poi il "Museo Folk Hakka" all'interno dell'edificio per saperne di più sulle persone Hakka, le usanze locali e gli Hakka Earth Buildings. Esci dal museo, continuerai ad esplorare gli altri edifici con varie forme come l'edificio quadrato di Shengqing, l'edificio rotondo di Shanqing, l'edificio Gengqing e l'esagono Gongqing Building. Avrai la possibilità di visitare la scuola elementare locale del villaggio e interagire con gli alunni. Dopo il tour, avrai un buon riposo sul comodo veicolo durante il viaggio di ritorno di 3 ore a Xiamen. A unesco heritage place. Worth viewing but to get there is quite a pain. If you go with a group tour, they will be trying to get you to buy things on route so a private tour is preferred. If you go on your own from Xiamen, it can be a very long journey.

Chuxi village is worth a visit. About 2.5 hours drive from Xiamen. Few tourists in December 2025. You get a great view from the hilltop and can visit a few tulou of different sizes. Unlike other villages the tourism signage is not as prevalent which makes the experience more immersive. You can also get a good meal in the village. The guide himself had fairly limited English skills, and very limited knowledge to share about the history and culture of the area, which was disappointing. That said, I would definitely recommend visiting tulou if you can.
