Nel villaggio storico di Pamplemousses, visiterai il famoso Giardino Botanico Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, dove potrai vedere le gigantesche ninfee e 85 varietà di palme provenienti da tutto il mondo. Scoprirai anche le varie spezie e piante medicinali e imparerai a conoscere le varie piante endemiche e importate nel giardino.
A Pamplemousses visiterai anche L'Aventure du Sucre, il museo informativo situato in un'antica fabbrica di zucchero. Lì, non solo scoprirai la storia dello zucchero, ma anche quella di Mauritius, il commercio degli schiavi e il rum. Partirai con un nuovo apprezzamento dell'isola e della sua gente e potrai assaggiare le diverse varietà di zucchero e deliziosi rum locali.
Scopri il castello di Labourdonnais, un palazzo coloniale splendidamente restaurato costruito nel 1859 e visitare il loro incantevole giardino tropicale. Il tour include la visita del castello, una passeggiata attraverso il frutteto e il giardino degli uccelli, la visione delle tartarughe giganti, così come una visita guidata della loro distilleria di rum nella tenuta e la degustazione di rum gratis al bar. Nota: porta gli spray per zanzare. A causa dell'età e del valore di alcuni oggetti trovati all'interno della casa, non è consentito fotografare con il flash all'interno del castello in quanto ciò potrebbe causare danni.
Un tour del Nord non è completo senza una visita a Port-Louis, la capitale di Mauritius. La città è una miscela di vecchio e nuovo. Da un lato c’è il trambusto del mercato storico della città (bazar), costruito nel 1828, dove puoi contrattare diverse spezie e souvenir e assaggiare lo street food mauriziano. E dall'altra parte c'è il moderno Caudan Waterfront, dove i visitatori possono fare shopping nei negozi di marca e mangiare in vari ristoranti. È possibile visitare le zone di Port-Louis che vi interessano come l'Aapravasi Ghat (patrimonio dell'UNESCO), e le strade più piccole. Per una splendida vista, il tuo autista ti porterà a fare una sosta alla Cittadella e potrai anche vedere l'ippodromo degli Champs de Mars sulla strada.

Our tour guide was very kind and gave us all sorts of information. He waited for us in the car while visiting, which gave us privacy. The Botanical Garden is absolutely stunning!

Our driver took us to Port Louis before the shops opened and we had 40 mins there. We then went to Botanical Gardens for 40 mins and then he took us to a place to have lunch. Only set menus no choice very expensive we were ripped off costing us nearly £100 for two lunches having paid for the driver who hardly spoke to us. He then gave us a choice between the Sugar museum and the colonial house we thought both were included. So very disappointing. Not enough time to explore things properly.
Hi, thanks for your review and feedback. Please note that since the tour started at 9am, the shops in Port Louis should have been open. It's possible some were closed as it was a Saturday. We'll follow up with your driver regarding your feedback, and the Sugar Museum and Colonial House.

This is a great way to do this tour. The transport was a 14 Seater which had a great air conditioning system and was really clean and neat. The driver was superb and left us on our own at the various venues, which was great as we could explore at leisure. The driver was polite and professional, and when we got to the market, he made sure to walk us to the right places so we did not get lost. All in all, this is definitely worth the money you pay, and it was great to see all these special places in one tour.

My wife and I had a lovely trip with our driver San. He was very informative, accommodating to our requests and funny. His car was very comfortable (both my wife and I are over 6 foot and had good space). He is also an excellent driver, able to cope well with some adverse weather conditions. We would recommend San for anyone wanting to explore the North of Mauritius.
