Sarnath è un bellissimo sito buddista ed è considerato uno dei più sacri tra i quattro diversi luoghi associati alla vita del Buddha. Oggi questo luogo è costellato di numerosi templi buddisti, un sito-museo e resti archeologici. Conoscerai la filosofia del buddismo, le storie delle nascite precedenti del Buddha (i racconti di Jataka) e tante altre cose legate a questo luogo.

Itinerario
Visiteremo il tempio Mool Gandh Kuti Vihara, costruito dalla "Mahabodhi Society" con sede nello Sri Lanka. Questo tempio ha bellissimi murales dipinti da un artista giapponese. Questo tempio ospita anche le reliquie del Buddha, che vengono esposte pubblicamente per 3 giorni a novembre.
Visiteremo questo parco archeologico che conserva resti di antichi monasteri buddisti e numerosi stupa.
Visiteremo il museo del sito che ospita l'emblema nazionale dell'India, una delle più belle immagini del Buddha e alcune altre sculture molto importanti e significative.
Questo luogo ha i resti del pilastro Ashokan che contiene anche l'iscrizione in lingua Pali e scrittura Brahmi. Questo pilastro aveva un capitello con quattro leoni in piedi uno dietro l'altro, che fu adottato come emblema nazionale dell'India dopo l'indipendenza.

We did 2 tours this week and we loved both of them. The Sarnath tour was great, we learned a lot buddhism and we would 100% recommend any tour with Karan. He goes above and beyond to make every tour special. He is a wealth of knowledge!

Karan is incredibly smart and charismatic. What sets him apart from other tours is that he doesn’t just explain India and Varanasi but mostly importantly he was explaining things with a comparative approach against other cultures which shows his understanding and knowledge of not only India but also the rest of the world. Highly recommended! I took a tour with Karan to Sarnath. It was very good experience. This tour was really worthwhile, Karan organised everything for us from buying our museum tickets to grabbing us a delicious coconut drink/snack for the journey home. He was very well-informed and answered every question we had. We came away with a much better understanding of Buddhism in general, thanks to his in-depth explanations. Karan was also very considerate when we asked to postpone the original booking after we had a difficult night’s sleep. Would highly recommend!

It was very easy to understand, and they even came to pick me up at my hotel! After watching the puja, we took a boat ride to sightsee on the river! They explained a lot of things to me, so it was easy to understand! If you come to Varanasi, please give it a try as it's a great deal at 100 rupees!
