Montserrat è un monastero in cima a una montagna situato in cima a un'insolita montagna rocciosa. È il punto più alto della pianura catalana. Il monastero di Montserrat ospita “la Moreneta”, detta anche Madonna Nera. La leggenda narra che i monaci benedettini trovarono la statua, e non potevano spostarla per costruire il loro monastero, così decisero di costruirla attorno alla statua. Montserrat è stato designato Parco Nazionale nel 1987. Oggi è un luogo di pellegrinaggio di persone in tutto il mondo. Una volta a Montserrat, goditi 45 minuti di visita guidata e poi avrai 2 ore per esplorare. Puoi visitare la Moreneta, entrare nel Museo, assaggiare i liquori fatti in casa del monastero, fare una passeggiata facile.
L'origine del monastero è incerta, ma si ritiene che la Vergine di Monsterrat (la Moreneta) sia stata ritrovata intorno all'880. Secondo la leggenda, i monaci costruiscono il monastero attorno alla statua. Il monastero funziona ancora oggi con oltre 70 monaci. La basilica di Montserrat iniziò la sua costruzione nel XVI secolo e oggi ospita un museo d'arte. È anche il luogo dove si esibisce la Escolania, uno dei più antichi cori di voci bianche d'Europa, durante le cerimonie religiose.

Nel tempo libero prendi la funicolare e goditi la vista panoramica della montagna. La funicolare offre una vista sul monastero e panorami mozzafiato dai Pirenei. In cima, puoi anche visitare l'Aula de Natura (Centro Natura), dove imparerai la storia, la flora e la fauna della montagna.

Excellent service, very friendly MK and Aaron and helped with absolutely everything. Very happy!!
Aaron was fantastic! He made the whole trip so easy and hands off. When my four year-old got tired on the long walk, he offered to carry her on his shoulders for a bit. He even stopped in the gift shop to read her a story while I purchased my items. He was so kind and knowledgeable. This was a great tour for adults and for kids! We learned a lot and saw everything in a great amount of time. I’m so glad we booked and I would definitely book him again!

Vincenzo was an excellent guide. His knowledge of Catalonia and Monserrat is extensive. The tour included a driver and Vincenzo both of which were excellent. My son had a broken foot with limited mobility and both Vincenzo and the driver were very helpful. Montserrat is a very special place. Do not miss it if you are in Barcelona. I highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Vincenzo.

This was a wonderful tour with a comfortable bus and 3 very knowledgeable guides. Our main guide was Francesco who was just as charming as could be. Only downside was the cloudiness, but it was still worth the trip.

We had a private tour for a half day - it was great to have a pick up at the apartment. The driver and tour guide were great. We were able to park right near the restaurant and Monestary.
