Pla de Bages è una regione privilegiata circondata dalle mitiche montagne delle catene di Montserrat e Castelltallat, Sant Llorenç del Munt e Obac Natural Park. Inoltre, questa zona catalana ha una grande tradizione nella produzione di vino, anche se è una piccola regione, è l'erede delle grandi tradizioni vinicole della Catalogna centrale. L'olio d'oliva è un elemento fondamentale della dieta mediterranea , dove la maggior parte dei pasti viene servita con una bottiglia di olio d'oliva sul lato. Per questo motivo, avere questa esperienza è un modo per immergersi nella cultura catalana .

Vedrai la fantastica forma della Montagna Magica di Montserrat dall'auto, andando in cantina. Una volta arrivati in cantina scoprirete la vecchia cantina e la nuova cantina.
Visiteremo un'azienda di famiglia, un'azienda vinicola biologica che ha iniziato a coltivare i propri vigneti e lavorare nel mondo del vino nel 1885 e oggi è la quinta generazione che si prende cura in particolare della vigna e si impegna a dare la massima qualità ai propri prodotti. Questa esperienza include anche una visita alla cantina che vi darà l'opportunità di visitare una tipica fattoria catalana e passeggiare tra i vigneti biologici nel suo ambiente unico. Conosceremo le varietà locali come Picapoll bianco, sumoll, mandó e Picapoll rosso, esploreremo lo stabilimento di produzione e la stanza delle botti e infine faremo un assaggio di due vini dove ci spiegheranno tutto su quei vini accompagnati da qualche antipasto. Dopo la nostra esperienza di degustazione di vini, impareremo tutto sull'olio d'oliva.
L'olio d'oliva è un elemento base della dieta mediterranea, dove la maggior parte dei pasti viene servita con una bottiglia di olio d'oliva a lato. Per questo motivo, fare questa esperienza è un modo per immergersi nella cultura catalana. Questa esperienza ti mostrerà il magnifico mondo di questo oro liquido e allo stesso tempo ti godrai la bellissima campagna di Vall d'Hortons. Camminando lungo i millenari uliveti biologici, godrai della quiete del paesaggio con le fantastiche vedute delle montagne di Montserrat. Visitando il laboratorio in cui viene prodotto questo olio imparerai come si svolge il processo e, infine, ti godrai una degustazione di olio con prodotti tipici catalani e biologici della Vall d’Hortons come formaggio, miele e salumi.

What a beautiful day! We were picked up at our hotel PROMPTLY by David… he drove us to an AMAZING niche Olive Oil plantation. Operated the most wonderful and knowledgeable team. THE OIL was exquisite. Of course we had to buy a bunch. 😘 Next, we travel to another small niche winery… And all we can say is …. OMG. The wine was divine, from the whites, reds, sparkling and to the fabulous aged. They also hold local events here… Weddings, teambuilding, private party and tapas and a wine bar on the weekends for locals …events… With four rooms to choose from, large to intimate the aesthetics were impressive . it’s owned by the same family for generations and the unique thing is that they have kept tools, bottles barrels and yes animal skins that wine was stored in. Very educational . Needless to say several hundred dollars later… and several cases later heading to the states. Thank goodness they ship. David’s driving was immaculate, safe and a beautiful journey we were taken back to our hotel. A memory we soon will not forget.

We had a wonderful time on this tour; thank you, Melanie! The tour was private, just GF and I, in a private car. Melanie was wonderful and knowledgable and the food and wine were delicious and seemed authentic. The locations were carefully selected and took us to some off the beaten path places. The tours we received were extensive and thorough; the guides were happy to answer our many questions. The olive oil and chocolate we bought are amazing. If you have an opportunity to work with Melanie and her company, do it! I would repeat this exact same tour in a heartbeat.

Loved this tour! Fantastic wat to end our trip! We have never done an olive oil tasting before and this was very interesting and fun. The winery was beautiful and I enjoyed every wine we tasted! I highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing time on our Barcelona Discovery Tour! Definitely recommend the wine/olive oil tour and tour company. The communication setting up the tour was so easy. Melanie came to pick us up at our hotel and we drove through the beautiful Catalan region. It was a foggy day, but we were still able to see a little bit of Montserrat from the distance. Our first stop was a beautiful winery, where we had a private tour with Marisola. We learned about the history of the winery and their wine making process (both old and new). We had a tasting of some great wines and an impressive spread including cheese, meat, bread, tomato, pate, chocolate, etc to accompany our wines in one of the historic stone houses. The wines and the experience were great! One of the best vineyard tours we've been on. The wines were really good and we ended up buying some to take home. Our second stop was the olive oil tasting and tour. We had a private tasting and tour with Aena. We learned about the history of the olive orchard, what to look for in tasting, did a tasting, and then walked around the beautiful orchard. It was an awesome and new experience as we never did a olive oil tasting before. The olive oil was great and we ended up buying olive oil and chocolate for gifts. It was an awesome day! Thanks to Melanie, we could not have been more happy with our tour. Barcelona Discovery does an awesome job of partnering with great wineries, olive orchards, and different experiences. We had such a great time. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Spain!
