Enrico VIII era un uomo di eccessi e non faceva certo le cose a metà! In questo tour con me (Sandy) vagherai per le enormi cucine dove venivano preparate feste di nove portate per lui e per i suoi nobili ospiti; rimarrai stupito dalla squisitezza dei suoi arazzi che costano il doppio del prezzo della sua nave da guerra preferita. Potresti anche essere inorridito dalla storia dell'espansione della collezione di mogli di Henry e di come, quando iniziò la disperazione per trovare un figlio ed erede, Henry prese misure drastiche! Questo tour ti farà conoscere la vita di eccesso di Henry: le dimensioni delle sue cucine, il fascino dei suoi arredi, perché è diventato così grande, chi erano le sue mogli e cosa è successo a tutte loro. Ma soprattutto, questa è un'occasione per divertirsi immaginando l'inimmaginabile: ricchezze ed eccessi che non conoscevano limiti che hanno dato vita a una delle corti più magnifiche d'Europa!

Itinerario
Il palazzo di Enrico VIII è l'equivalente Tudor di un hotel a 5 stelle. Iniziamo il tour a Base Court, dove Henry accoglieva i suoi nobili ospiti, e da lì ci spostiamo nelle cucine. Si trattava di un vasto complesso di stanze e impiegava un incredibile personale di 200 persone. Immaginare il tipo di cene create in queste cucine è divertente così come lo è la prima vista della Sala Grande di Henry, riccamente decorata con arazzi che costano quanto la sua nave da guerra preferita. Dopo aver ammirato le vetrate colorate e il bellissimo soffitto con travi a martello, vaghiamo attraverso un arco nella Grande Camera di Osservazione. Qui i nobili, strettamente sorvegliati dagli Yeomen, aspettavano per chiacchierare con Henry. Il soffitto di questa stanza celebra il matrimonio di Henry con Jane Seymour, la donna che gli diede il tanto desiderato figlio. Passiamo alla Haunted Gallery, dove racconto la storia della tragica quinta regina di Henry, prima di dare un'occhiata alla sua replica della corona nella Chapel Royal. L'ultima tappa è ammirare l'opera d'arte colorata, l'orologio astronomico in Clock Court

Sandy is a fantastic oral historian! She navigated us through Hampton Court and Henry VIII excesses. If you love Tudor history, she is a must!!! My friend, who is not that much into history, thoroughly enjoyed this private guided tour. I look forward to coming back and doing a different tour with Sandy!

Sandy was so warm, friendly and engaging. She met us in the coffee shop opposite the palace for a coffee and introduction to the tour. Her subject knowledge was exceptional and her delivery was first rate. My wife and I highly recommend a tour with her. Ms Sandy was such a sweet & lovely lady!; she is full of knowledge. Great communication before arrival with detailed instructions for meeting point and directions form our hotel. I traveled with my 18yo son and 16yo daughter. To my surprise, Ms Sandy kept them engaged and interested the whole 1.5 hour tour. If you have teens, you must do the Maze afterwards in the gardens; my kids had a blast!. We traveled June 5 and weather was perfect. Thank you Ms Sandy it was fun!

Our team were looking to expand their knowledge of the local area and introduce new employees as well. Sandy's tour was the perfect opportunity for everyone to learn some very interesting local information whilst also having fun.
