Rijeka dubrovačka (fiume di Dubrovnik) è l'area a ovest di Dubrovnik dalla sorgente del fiume Ombla al ponte Franjo Tudman. Ombla è uno dei fiumi più piccoli del mondo. La sua lunghezza dalla sorgente all'inizio delle acque salmastre (dove si mescolano acqua dolce e salata) è di circa 50 metri. I cittadini della vecchia Dubrovnik apprezzavano la bellezza naturale di questo canyon e come tale ospita il maggior numero di residenze estive - 24 in effetti. La residenza estiva Gučetić-Đurđević è di grande importanza per la Repubblica di Dubrovnik perché ospitò il consiglio finale dei nobili nel 1814.
Giro panoramico lungo la costa Un bel giro lungo la strada adriatica che domina la costa e i paesi ci porterà verso il piccolo borgo di Trsetno e Arboretum.
Trsteno si trova a circa 12 km da Dubrovnik a nord. L'ingresso si trova proprio accanto a un enorme platano orientale che si estende per 50 m nel cielo. Degno di nota! L'albero è rimasto lì per 500 anni casualmente secondo la leggenda, ed è stato piantato contemporaneamente alla fondazione dell'Arboreto. Che l'avventura abbia inizio!
L'Arboreto è il più antico giardino rinascimentale della Dalmazia. Risale al 1492 quando vi fu costruito un acquedotto per l'irrigazione. Il giardino si sviluppò ed era di proprietà della residenza di famiglia Gučetić-Gozze. La famiglia era molto interessata alle piante così ordinarono semi e piante da navi provenienti da luoghi esotici provenienti da diverse parti del mondo. Qui visse il filosofo e scrittore Nikola Vitov Gučetić. L'ultimo proprietario Vito Gučetić Bosiljević (Gozze Basegli) un collezionista di sculture in pietra, fece una rovina artificiale e alcune delle sculture furono persino collocate intorno al palazzo. Il giardino è lussureggiante e pieno di banani giapponesi, palme da dattero, magnolie, varie specie di cactus e altre piante esotiche. Durante la guerra d'indipendenza croata, l'Arboretum di Trsteno fu pesantemente danneggiato dalle forze serbe e montenegrine, attaccato dal mare e dall'aria. What a fantastic and unique experience! We absolutely loved exploring Dubrovnik in Ivan's beautifully maintained classic DS. It was such a special way to see the city and something we will always remember. Ivan was an excellent guide and driver; knowledgeable, friendly, and great fun to spend time with. He shared fascinating stories and local insights that made the tour feel personal and very local. A true highlight of our visit to Dubrovnik, still dreaming it!

Fantastic day touring. Went to interesting local sites and also sampled local homemade fare. Great tour for those who have already done the main sites of Dubrovnik old town and are looking to do something a little different. Was initially concerned that the car would be uncomfortable, but it was amazingly comfortable and our guide was so knowledgeable. We had a great time. We will be in touch with them again and arrange to do more unique local experiences on our next trip to Dubrovnik.
I’m a big fan of old Citroens so this was unmissable. A great way to see what’s outside the city walls in absolute style. Good local knowledge plus the best car around with that amazing suspension
Without a doubt one of the best experiences we had in Dubrovnik. This is not just a tour – it’s a truly special and authentic journey through some of the most beautiful parts of the Dubrovnik area. It feels like stepping back in time while discovering breathtaking viewpoints, hidden gems and places you would never find on your own. Ivan is exceptional host – professional, welcoming and passionate. He creates a relaxed and personal atmosphere, making you feel more like a guest than a tourist. A highlight was definitely the tasting of homemade local products prepared by his family – fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious. It adds a genuine local touch that makes this experience stand out from anything else in Dubrovnik. We had an amazing experience in Dubrovnik with our large family group. Ivan welcomed us at the Old Town harbour and took us on his beautiful family wooden boat, which made the trip feel extra special. Cruising along the city walls, visiting Lokrum, and relaxing at nearby beaches was stunning—especially during sunset, when everything felt magical. The children on board had a chance to do speed boat ride while we were enjoying the scenic views. We made memories and photos we’ll cherish for years. The boat tour with Ivan, Goran, and Leo was perfectly balanced with swimming, relaxing, and enjoying snacks and coffee. The Zaba tour with Ivan and Goran showed us hidden spots, incredible viewpoints, and included delicious homemade products, adding a very personal touch. Both tours were relaxed, well-organised, and full of genuine hospitality. Highly recommended—thank you for such a special experience
