Prima di entrare nell'area DMZ e fare il controllo ID, esamineremo 3 fermate: Brdige of Freedom, Mangbaedan Altar, locomotiva a vapore distrutta durante la guerra di Corea nel Parco Imjingak. Imjingak è stato costruito nel 1972 a beneficio degli sfollati nordcoreani. È alla fine della strada nazionale n. 1, a cui possono accedere i civili.
Mangbaedan è un altare dove i rifugiati nordcoreani nel sud celebrano riti ancestrali nelle due più grandi festività nazionali ai loro genitori e nonni lasciati nel nord.
Il terzo tunnel si riferisce a uno dei tunnel scavati dalla Corea del Nord verso sud sotto la DMZ. Si trova a 12 km da Munsan e 52 km da Seoul ed è stato scoperto il 17 ottobre 1978. Il tunnel misura 2 m di larghezza, 2 m di altezza e oltre 1.635 m di lunghezza, abbastanza da ospitare circa 30.000 soldati all'ora. È stato scoperto in un sito a quattro chilometri a sud di Panmunjom nel 1978. Scenderà e si guarderà intorno a piedi. Won is the best tour guide!! My husband and I had such a wonderful time with him. This was by far our favorite activity from our trip to Korea, we learned so much about Korean culture and the history of the relationship between North and South Korea. Unforgettable tour, made so much more enriching by our excellent, excellent guide Alex Kim, who was friendly, knowledgeable and really accommodating. He'll also take care of your photographs, knowing exactly where to go and how to take the photos so that they come out just right. The bridge was scenic, the DMZ and third tunnel really interesting, but the highlight for us was meeting the North Korean defector -- a sobering and eye-opening experience for my family and I. Won was a great tour guide. He was very friendly and accommodating with our young boys. He explained to us every step of the way for our DMZ tour along with sharing some history which was great. As we ventured uphill in the tunnel, he made sure we all made our way back up and keep my company when i had to take a break.
