Angkor Wat è un enorme complesso di templi buddisti situato nel nord della Cambogia. Fu originariamente costruito nella prima metà del XII secolo come tempio indù. Distribuito su più di 400 acri, si dice che Angkor Wat sia il più grande monumento religioso del mondo.
Ta Prohm è la capitale indiscussa del regno degli Alberi. È stato lasciato intatto dagli archeologi, ad eccezione dell'apertura di un percorso per i visitatori e del rafforzamento strutturale per evitare ulteriori deterioramenti. A causa del suo stato naturale, è possibile sperimentare in questo tempio la meraviglia dei primi esploratori quando si imbatterono in questi monumenti a metà del diciannovesimo secolo. Avvolto nella fitta giungla, il tempio di Ta Prohm ha un aspetto etereo ed evoca un'aura romantica. Gli alberi di fico, banyan e kapok hanno diffuso le loro radici gigantesche su pietre, sondando pareti e terrazze a parte, mentre i loro rami e foglie si intrecciano per formare un tetto sopra le strutture. Banteay Srei o Banteay Srey è un tempio cambogiano del X secolo dedicato al dio indù Shiva. L'intaglio dettagliato delle sculture, degli architravi e dei fregi ne fanno una bellissima struttura. Le pareti sono ricoperte da intagli profondi e intricati, ognuno scolpito con superbi dettagli. Banteay Srei fu costruito da un consigliere bramino del re Rajendravarman in un momento in cui l'Impero Khmer stava crescendo in potere e territorio.
Concludere la giornata con una vista al tramonto dal tempio Pre Rup è un'esperienza mozzafiato che racchiude la bellezza e la storia del patrimonio prezioso della Cambogia.
Questa porta è uno dei siti più famosi di queste rovine di Angkor Thom, l'antica capitale dell'Impero Khmer.
Il Tempio Bayon, che fu costruito durante il regno di Jayavarman VII, è unico in quanto è l'unico tempio di stato buddista e l'ultimo ad essere costruito nell'Impero di Angkor. Queste strutture sono conosciute come "torri facciali". Le incisioni in bassorilievo sulle pareti esterne delle torri Bayon raffigurano racconti storici eroici e scene della vita quotidiana Khmer.
"Angkor Thom" è talvolta scritto "Angkor Tom". Il nome "Angkor Thom" è stato utilizzato solo dopo che Angkor non era più la capitale Khmer, significa "Angkor Big" o "Capitale Grande". Very nice. Leisure pace while seeing all the sites. A private tour so we could regulate times at locations. Very good English speaking guide with a wealth of knowledge. Car was excellent as was driver. Very nice lunch spot with very good food and very fresh fish! Recommend

The temples are so fascinating and majestic! Our tour guide, Leap, was simply the best! He was very knowledgeable, patient, and he showed us all the important temples, carvings, and statues. We also learnt a lot about the Khmer people and language. Our driver was also very professional. We were provided with cold towels and water. The Angkor Wat temples are a must see, and this tour is a must do. 10/10
The temples are so so beautiful and majestic. Our tour guide Leap was the best! He was very informative and patient, and he showed us all the important temples and explained the history, carvings, and statues in detail. The temples at Siem Reap are breathtaking and taking a tour with Leap is a must do.
