La nostra prima visita è all'Acropoli e al sito archeologico che la circonda.La vista panoramica della capitale dalla Rocca Sacra è unica. Sulla collina storica, avrete la possibilità di vedere l'Odeon di Erode Attico, il Tempio dell'Atena Nike, la porta monumentale (Propilei), l'Eretteo e, naturalmente, il famoso Partenone, il tempio principale dedicato alla dea vergine Atena.
Successivamente, ci dirigiamo verso lo Stadio Panathenaic, dove si tennero i primi Giochi Olimpici moderni nel 1896.
Al Colle di Licabetto, goditi splendide viste panoramiche di Atene, tra cui monumenti come l'Acropoli e il Mar Egeo. Circondato da una vegetazione lussureggiante, questo luogo sereno offre un luogo perfetto per rilassarsi, cenare e scattare foto mozzafiato della città sottostante.
Visiteremo poi i monumenti architettonici unici nel centro della città, noti come la Trilogia ateniese (Biblioteca Nazionale – Università – Accademia di Atene).
Lungo la strada, ci dirigiamo verso l'Antica Agorà, il cuore della vita pubblica nelle antiche città greche. L'area dell'antica Agorà comprende alcuni dei monumenti più importanti di Atene come il Tempio di Efesto, l'Altare dei Dodici Dei, l'Apollon Patroos, la Chiesa dei Santi Apostoli e altro ancora
Proseguendo lungo il Giardino Nazionale, vedremo il cambio della guardia (Euzones) di fronte al vecchio palazzo, che oggi è il Parlamento, sopra la piazza centrale di Atene, Syntagma e poi al Monumento del Milite Ignoto di fronte al Parlamento greco, dove è possibile scattare foto con i soldati in abbigliamento tradizionale greco.
Visita il maestoso Tempio di Zeus Olimpio, un tempo il più grande tempio della Grecia. Dedicata a Zeus, il re degli dei dell'Olimpo, questa colossale struttura ha richiesto oltre 600 anni per essere completata. Anche se rimangono solo poche delle sue colonne torreggianti, la scala e la grandezza del tempio sono impressionanti. In mezzo a queste antiche rovine, avrai un'idea dell'importanza del tempio nell'antichità e del suo ruolo nella vita religiosa di Atene.

We booked a private 5-hour Athens tour, and Margaret was wonderful. The weather was horrible and we had a very limited time before we caught our flight back to Crete, yet Margaret made it great with her master driving in chaotic Athens, and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Got the hotel pickup option and it was great. Giannis was on time and his van was clean and comfortable, He took us to all the highlights, which was great, but made even better by his flexibility on times at the various places. We ended up spending more time at the Olympic stadium but still made it to the changing of the guard right on time. When he dropped us at the Acropolis for our separate tour, he kept in touch with WhatsApp messages. You don't get the tour commentary, but you'll have fun!
