Our family arrived at the meeting site on time, right next to the Tallinn, Estonia Tourist Office. No guide showed up so we asked inside. We were told that the guide works solo and for months does not show up to give the paid for tours. THIS IS A SCAM. Viator should yank the 3 hour Tallinn Food Tour off its website. Why aren't you monitoring this situation since it has happened many times before?
Dear Reviewer, We believe this review has been posted for the wrong company. We have no record of your booking, nor have we received any communication from you or from Viator regarding the situation you described. If a guide genuinely failed to appear, customers can always contact us directly, and Viator would also notify us so the issue could be resolved immediately. Even in the highly unlikely event that a tour could not operate, the customer would receive a full refund. We would never leave guests without assistance or simply fail to show up without resolving the situation. Our company operates more than 100 tours across 7 countries, and we take customer service very seriously. Since there is no booking associated with your review, we are unable to verify any of the claims made, which makes this situation highly suspicious. As this review appears to be fraudulent or intended for another tour operator, we have reported it to Viator and requested its removal. Thank you.
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide was excellent. Great mix of history and personal experiences. My husband had mobility issues and she navigated the streets to ensure we could see all the sights with a minimal amount of walking.
Very insightful tour, beautiful city and great guide. Enjoyed it very much.I Recomend it not only the medieval town but the larks and memorial
Maeve was a great guide. She met us outside the cruise terminal with a car and driver nearby. We viewed the location of the Mid.Summer Festival. The wooden structure for the fire was visible and ready to light later that day. We viewed several historical sites before the walking tour began at highest area of Tallinn. She was quite knowledgeable of the history of the area and was also open to our questions. At the end of the tour, she steered us to a wonderful chocolate shop, as well as directions to the ship shuttle. It was an enjoyable experience.
Our tour guide for Tallinn, Estonia, was named Maive. Her personality was very fun and engaging, and she clearly enjoyed showing off her city for us. She took us to many interesting shops in Tallinn's Old Town district. Maive is a choral singer, and she took us to an outdoor concert stage where she sang annually in a huge choir. She also showed us the river where Helsinki hosted the rowing events in the 1980 Summer Olympics. I highly recommend her for a visit to Tallinn because you will not find a more personable guide!

It’s great to know her passion for the city, local insights, and personal touches made your experience so memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again on another tour soon!

Although it wasn’t a reflection on our tour guide Kaubo , we were very disappointed with this tour. We booked a 3 hour private car tour with guide. This was done especially since my husband has difficulty walking. After an hour we were told to get out of the vehicle for two hours of walking!!! What!!! And we were going to either walk back to shuttle or taxi back and additional pay for it! What!! As you see below it clearly states you will be brought back to our starting location at the cruise port. Kaubo did a wonderful job walking slowly and looking out for us but what the heck! How to get there Tallinn @ Pick-up point Cruise Terminal Cruise Terminal, Tallinn, Harju maakond, Estonia > • End Point This activity ends back at the meeting point >
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our guide Kaubo. We are happy to hear he did his best to accommodate your pace and make the experience comfortable for you. We would however like to clarify that the tour description clearly states that this is a combination of approximately 1 hour panoramic drive and 2 hours walking tour in Tallinn Old Town. Tallinn’s UNESCO-listed medieval Old Town is made up of narrow cobblestone streets and pedestrian areas where vehicles are not permitted, which makes walking necessary in order to properly experience the historic center. The tour normally finishes in the Old Town, as many guests prefer to stay there for lunch, shopping, cafés, or additional sightseeing after the tour. Return to the cruise port is therefore individual or can be accompanied by our guide walking which only takes about 10mins We are also always happy to assist with arranging a taxi back to the port if requested. We appreciate your comments and will additionally review the wording of the tour description to make the itinerary and ending arrangements even clearer for future guests.
Maeve is a wonderful tour guide. We had a lovely time around Talinn. Learned a lot about Estonian history and the beautiful town and saw the sights. She drove us around for a large part of the tour and this was very helpful for me. We could go at a comfortable pace. She speaks very good English and is very nice. Highly recommend Maeve and this tour.

We visited Tallinn on a day trip (via ferry) from Helsinki in February. Tallinn itself is a delightful old city. But the highlight of our tour was what we learned from our guide, Maive, about the history of Estonia, its people and its culture. I will not share details here, as that is a story best told by an Estonian while in Estonia. I will instead give five stars to Maive for her warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guidance, and to both Maive and the tour operator for addressing quickly and warmly a glitch in our meeting up point and time. We are grateful to them for giving us such an incredible first impression of Tallinn and Estonia. We are already looking ahead to when we might return…in some time other than midwinter.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your time in Tallinn and that Maive made such a strong impression with her warm, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable guidance. It’s also great to know the small meeting point issue was handled smoothly and that your overall experience remained excellent. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you again—hopefully in a warmer season next time!
