Vedrai alcuni dei siti cristiani più importanti del Cairo, tra cui la Chiesa dei Santi Sergio e Bacco, la Chiesa di Santa Barbara e la Chiesa sospesa, oltrepassando il giro turistico per dare un'occhiata alla "città dei rifiuti", un affascinante quartiere del Cairo che la maggior parte dei visitatori trascura completamente.

Itinerario
La nostra guida ti verrà a prendere dal tuo hotel al Cairo o a Giza, poi con un trasferimento in auto privata per visitare la città copta del Cairo. Iniziamo con la fortezza di Babilonia del 98 a.C. dall'imperatore romano Traiano, poi visitiamo la chiesa sospesa che risale al terzo secolo e fu costruita sui resti delle 2 torri della fortezza di Babilonia. Poi visiteremo la chiesa della cripta sacra poiché crediamo che la sacra famiglia vi sia rimasta per tre mesi, poi visiteremo la comunità ebraica per visitare la sinagoga di Ben Ezra e la tua guida spiegherà la storia ebraica e il loro arrivo in Egitto e il profeta Mosè.
Poi trasferimento per visitare il Monastero di San Simone, noto anche come Chiesa rupestre di Zabbaleen, che risale al decimo secolo d.C. per San Simone il conciatore. Si trova sul monte Mokattam ed è tagliato nella roccia nativa della montagna per essere la chiesa più grande in Egitto e in Medio Oriente. Un breve tragitto in auto attraverso la cosiddetta "Garbage City", una grande popolazione di netturbini o Zabbaleen che vivono lì.

We wanted to see a different side of Cairo beyond the usual attractions, and this tour was perfect. The Cave Church was absolutely incredible and unlike anything we had seen before. The churches of Old Cairo were historic and inspiring. Our guide Ramy explained everything clearly and made the day memorable.

After doing the tour Koptic and Islamic highlights i continued with the guide Mina and driver George from Bishoo Travel to see the excavatrd church. Driving through “ rubbish city” where 90 to 95 % are Christians gave me a good view of the daily life of these citizens and their recycling activities, the church itself and the carvings in the rock were brilliant, together with the stories and history of the church. My guide Mina was passionated which I liked a lot.

First time in Egypt, we booked a day trip to visit Old Cairo churches and Saint Simon Cave monastery with Magic Cairo Tours via Viator. Our guide Marsil picked us up from our hotel and provided to be a wealth of knowledge of the sites we visited. It was a very impressive journey in which we’ve seen a lot and we learned a lot.Great sense of humour, attractive presentations flexible in adapting the schedule. Highly recommend.

Beautiful experience, very interesting both for the churches that you visit in the Coptic quarter in downtown Cairo and for the church of St. Simon in the mountain.
