Il campo di concentramento di Stutthof è stato il primo e il più lungo campo di concentramento operativo nel territorio della Polonia. Era stato istituito per sterminare l'intelligence ebraica e polacca, principalmente dalla Pomerania e dalla Città Libera di Gdask. Costruito nel 1939 e inizialmente destinato a circa 3000 persone, questo campo divenne gradualmente il luogo di tormenti e massacri per oltre 110 mila prigionieri di 26 paesi, molti dei quali furono torturati, costretti a lavorare o morirono nelle camere a gas. Il campo di concentramento di Stutthof è attualmente aperto ai visitatori. Poiché l'esposizione è piuttosto drastica, può essere visitata solo da persone di 13 anni o più. Il viaggio dura 5 ore e l'offerta comprende il biglietto d'ingresso al museo e l'esplorazione guidata dell'ex area di Stutthof: i vecchi e nuovi alloggi del campo, la villa del comandante principale, le camere a gas, il crematorio e il monumento alle sue vittime. Inoltre, è anche possibile guardare un film sul campo.

This was a great trip with a guide with deep knowledge and a very good and accurate way of telling the stories abaut Stutthof from the start to the end. Mike (our Guide) told the whole story, the awful handling of the people, how the camp was runned, and the strategies for survival was for the people in Stutthof. It is highly rekommended to do this tour for adults and teens.

The tour was very well-organized and professional. The driver arrived on time, was friendly and was giving us many interesting information about the region during the ride to our destination. If you are interested in history or just a really humbling experience, this concentration camp will open your eyes to struggles of the people that was imprisoned here. If you coming in the winter months make sure you dress warm. The cold adds to the experience. If you are in the Gdansk area this is a must see. Having a guided tour definitely helps to get a full concrete experience. Your tour guide was on time to pick us up and shared so much about the local area as well. The beach is close and the shops have some great homemade ice cream. Hope you all enjoy as much as our family did.
