Una giornata indimenticabile alla scoperta della rocciosa costa occidentale di Gran Canaria e del verde Nord lontano dal turismo di massa. Durante questa giornata potrete cogliere l'occasione per nuotare nelle più belle piscine naturali dell'isola. Scegliere noi significa scegliere di viaggiare prendendosi il proprio tempo, riscoprendo la diversità dei paesaggi ma anche il proprio patrimonio locale, storico, culturale ed enogastronomico. La tua escursione è completamente privata, senza soste aziendali non necessarie. Siamo presenti da molti anni sull'isola di Gran Canaria. Più di 20 anni fa ci siamo innamorati della sua gente, dei suoi paesaggi e delle sue tradizioni. La nostra passione è visitare ogni angolo della nostra bellissima isola. Siamo impazienti di far conoscere, a tutti coloro che vogliono sfuggire al turismo di massa, tutte le meraviglie che si nascondono nel nostro “continente in miniatura”. Itinerario
Faremo una sosta fotografica al “Molino de Viento”. È un mulino a vento, situato a pochi chilometri da Mogan. La tradizione orale narra che fu un pastore di La Aldea ad appiccargli il fuoco come ritorsione contro il potere comunale. Da allora in poi fu conosciuto come Moulin Brûlé. È stato restaurato nel 1998. La sua torre alta 7 metri lo rende il più grande mulino a vento di Gran Canaria.
Ci fermeremo ad ammirare gli “Azulejos de Veneguera”, un monumento naturale formato da un complesso processo di solidificazione dei fluidi espulsi dal vulcano Tejeda e che l'erosione di migliaia di anni ha lasciato a vista. Una montagna come se la colorassimo con pennellate. L'erosione ha rivelato una serie di strati geologici, minerali colorati con toni rossastri, ocra, verdi e blu. La gente del posto ha dato il nome "Los Azulejos de Veneguera" per la loro somiglianza con le pareti piastrellate dai colori vivaci di San Nicolas de Tolentino.
A Puerto de la Aldea troveremo l'unica spiaggia facilmente accessibile di tutta la costa. Faremo il giro del porto e poi ci dirigeremo verso “El Charco”. Si tratta di un piccolo lago naturale situato sulla spiaggia di La Aldea, formato da acqua di mare. I festeggiamenti di El Charco, nel villaggio di San Nicolás, sono uno degli eventi più famosi e popolari delle Isole Canarie. Ogni 11 settembre, nel "lago" del paese, centinaia di persone si riuniscono per pescare con le proprie mani i pesci che vivono in questa laguna costiera. Questa festa è considerata Bene di Interesse Culturale e si basa su una tradizione preispanica. Dopo un lungo viaggio lungo gli abissi rocciosi con una sosta per scattare foto della costa selvaggia, arriveremo alla nostra prossima fermata "Il Puerto de Las Nieves".
Agaete ha alcune delle piscine naturali e delle spiagge più famose della parte settentrionale dell'isola. Cammineremo lungo il suo pittoresco lungomare marittimo e ci fermeremo alle piscine naturali. Non dimenticare il costume da bagno se vuoi nuotare in queste piscine! Un'esperienza unica e indimenticabile!
Dopo il bagno, ci dirigeremo verso il porto di Agaete “Puerto de las Nieves”, un piccolo porto di pescatori con i suoi numerosi ristoranti di pesce in riva al mare. Questa sarà la sosta ideale per una meritata pausa pranzo principalmente in un ristorante tipico delle Canarie offrendo pesce pescato localmente. (Pasti non compresi nel prezzo dell'escursione). Dopo il pasto passeggeremo nel porto con le sue case bianche e blu ai piedi della spiaggia di ciottoli. Coglieremo l'occasione per vedere ciò che resta del famoso “Dedo de Dios”, l'emblematica roccia del porto. Si tratta di un monolite che emerge dall'oceano e ha la forma di una mano e di un dito puntato verso il cielo. In seguito ad un temporale nell'autunno del 2005, il dito crollò. Tutto ciò che rimane oggi è la mano. Sarà poi il momento di prendere la strada per Arucas.
Ora lasceremo la strada principale verso Arucas. Qui il paesaggio è molto verde e ovunque ci sono piantagioni di banane e tipiche “Fincas”. In questa regione, l’agricoltura gioca un ruolo principale. Ad Arucas visiteremo (l'esterno) la Cattedrale “Iglesia de San Juan”. Questa enorme chiesa con quattro torri fu costruita in basalto nero.

We had a great time with Fabian. Myself and my 13 years old daughter enjoyed his stories about the island and visiting places that were picturesque and certainly memorable. Lunch was super tasty and we loved trying typical Canarian food. Fabian was also patient with us when we wanted to stop and buy some nicely crafted souvenirs - much appreciated. Through his excursion, Fabien has shown us some of the wonders of Gran Canaria. He was able to satisfy our thirst for curiosity about the history, geography and culture of this island. We had the opportunity to take a trip to the mountains of Gran Canaria in December 2023 with this company and we were completely satisfied. So this year, for our return to the island we booked the full tour of the island and obviously again with Fabien. It was like meeting a long-time friend. You could see he was really happy to see us again. We toured the island as indicated on the program and even with a few little “Plus”, because Fabien knows how to adapt according to his clients and does not count his time. We enjoyed visiting the beach area of “La Aldea” Fabien showed us sites that we could not have discovered alone. The fish meal in Agaete facing the port was very good and typical. The West Coast is wild and beautiful. Fabien has many different excursions and as we return every year, we have already planned a completely different excursion. Having just completed my second tour with Fabien (my first was two years ago), I can confidently say that it is one of Gran Canaria's best guidebooks. This "Jane McDonald Tour" was absolutely fantastic and took us to some of the island's most beautiful hidden treasures. Fabien’s profound knowledge and passion for Gran Canaria are evident at every stop. From the crystal clear waters of Tufia with its charming white-blue houses and cave dwellings to the impressive neo-Gothic San Juan Bautista church in Arucas - every stop was a highlight. The historic centre of Arucas with its 17th-century architecture was particularly fascinating. ==References== A special highlight was the visit to Firgas, also known as the "balcony of the Atlantic". The Paseo de Gran Canaria with its waterfall road and the Paseo de Canarias, which shows the landscapes of all the Canary Islands, offer breathtaking photographic motifs. Lunch here was a unique experience with local watercress dishes - a truly authentic taste of Canarian cuisine! The last stop at Puerto de las Nieves in Agaete was overwhelming, with its natural pools and iconic Dedo de Dios rock formation. The blue and white houses along the pebble beach perfectly embody the charm of this fishing village. What distinguishes Fabien is his charming personality, his many years of experience and his ability to convey not only the tourist places but the authentic soul of Gran Canaria. His personable nature and professional approach make the 8-hour tour seem like an excursion with a well-informed friend. I have now done two different tours with Fabien and would book again at any time. If you want to experience the real Gran Canaria with an excellent guide, Fabien is the place to be. His tours are worth every euro! Tip for travellers: Think of comfortable shoes, sun protection and bathing gear if you want to swim in the natural pools!
