Ispirando meraviglia con antiche rovine, piramidi e obelischi, l'attuale Fayoum è nota anche per i suoi villaggi pittoreschi, l'artigianato della ceramica e le ruote idrauliche, quest'ultima essendosi affermata come un simbolo importante per la città e l'oasi. Il piccolo villaggio di Tunisi (‘izbat Tunis) si trova nell’oasi di Fayoum, sulla strada per Wadi Rayan. Situato su una collina di fronte a un grande lago di acqua salata, il villaggio si affaccia su una vista mozzafiato sul confine del deserto sull'altro lato del lago. È uno dei posti più belli dell'Egitto.
È uno dei monumenti naturali più ricchi e preziosi dell’Egitto. Il lago Qarun ha ricevuto il suo status di protettorato, non solo per la sua evidente bellezza e importanza per gli uccelli e le persone, ma anche per la sua impareggiabile importanza storica, naturale e scientifica.
Wadi El Rayan è una delle riserve naturali più famose dell’Egitto. Prende il nome dal re El Rayan Ibn El Walid che aveva vissuto nella zona con il suo esercito, la riserva naturale fa parte del governatorato di El Fayoum e si trova a circa 75 km dalla città di El Fayoum.
Wadi Al-Hitan, nella Valle delle Balene, nel deserto occidentale dell'Egitto, contiene resti fossili di inestimabile valore del più antico, e ormai estinto, sottordine di balene, gli Archaeoceti. Questi fossili rappresentano una delle storie più importanti dell’evoluzione: l’emergere della balena come mammifero oceanico da una vita precedente come animale terrestre. Questo è il sito più importante al mondo per la dimostrazione di questo stadio di evoluzione
Il Fayoum come è noto è l'unica oasi artificiale, creata non da acqua che sgorga dal terreno ma da un lungo canale, formato naturalmente dalle piene del Nilo, che risale ai tempi biblici, chiamato canale di Giuseppe. Questo si estende dal Nilo al grande lago di Birket Qarun. È questo enorme lago, che nelle giornate tempestose assomiglia molto al mare, a conferire un carattere speciale al Fayoum. Il lago era un luogo importante per la caccia alle anatre e gli hotel sulla sua sponda meridionale ospitavano luminari come Winston Churchill e re Farouk mentre sparavano agli uccelli in volo. Sebbene ci sia ancora qualche caccia alle anatre, c'è molto più birdwatching sia su questo lago che sul vicino Wadi Rayyan, un'altra distesa d'acqua creata artificialmente.

I want to thank the driver who wait us for long time at hotel also the programme is so good. When we arrived Mr mefreh welcomed us also food was excellent in camp and views are awesome. I recommend this trip since the price is cheap

This tour was incredible! The Whales Valley and Wadi El Rayan are breathtakingly beautiful. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, providing fascinating insights into the area’s history and natural wonders. The tour was well-organized, with plenty of time to explore and take photos. The transportation was comfortable, and the lunch provided was delicious. This trip is a must-do for anyone visiting Cairo. Highly recommend!

What a *hit show this was. If you book the cheaper version of this tour for 80 USD "Car+guide", the only thing you will get is a regular taxi from Cairo to the camp. The way it is written is completely untransparent and misleading. I have no clue why this option is even available since without a 4x4 car, you can't do *hit in the park. They didn't mention I would need to pay extra until the very end when they just handed me a phone, and someone was requesting another 50 USD for the drive and lunch. I would have been fine with it if it had been obvious from the beginning, but it wasn't. On top of that, we didn't even visit all the attractions, and that "Qualified Egyptologist Guide" was another driver who couldn't speak English at all. Now these clowns are asking the Viator support bot not just for that 50 USD but for 200, which I consider to be completely pathetic. Stay away from them.
We apologize for you for this misunderstanding but From the begining sit , you booked the option Car& guide . And you have got private limousine car picked you up and you have egyptologist guide in Fayoum . We contacted you at the tour morning confirming on you the booked option " Car+ guide" which means all entry fees and lunch is excluded . They are included in the All inclusive option which you hadn't booked . Secondly , Although you have booked Car& guide option , you refused to pay the entry fees & lunch at the end of thr tour and we payed for you the entry fees and lunch which costs 2300 egyptian pounds .
Highly organized and nice tour . Wadi El Rayan is a great place to visit . Guide Mido is so nice and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed having lunch there and visiting wadi El Hitan . Great service with reasonable price.
