Questo speciale tour a piedi ci porta sulle orme di John Wesley. Lungo la strada visiteremo la casa di John Wesley e la cappella adiacente e visiteremo altri siti storici in un tour di 3 ore, inclusi luoghi in cui Wesley predicava all'aperto, dove andava a scuola e il luogo della sua conversione a la casa di John Bray. Visiteremo la cappella e la tomba di John Wesley prima di dirigerci verso la casa di John Wesley.
John e Charles Wesley, George Whitefield e altri hanno predicato qui e nella zona di 'Moorfields'. Wesley organizzò riunioni e visitò i convertiti; così iniziò la Società Metodista in Inghilterra.
Samuel Annesley, padre di Susanna Wesley, fu espulso da questa antica chiesa nel 1662.
John Wesley sposò Molly Vazeille, una vedova, nel 1751. Poco prima, cadde e si slacciò gravemente il piede. Fu portato nella casa del Vazeille e trascorse una settimana di convalescenza, curato da Molly.
Nei verdi giardini di St Pauls, vedremo la statua di John Wesley che commemora le occasioni in cui predicò in questa magnifica cattedrale.
Il padre di John Wesley, Samuel, è stato curato qui per un anno. Una finestra della predicazione sul campo di John Wesley a Moorfields e una targa sulle ringhiere commemorano le conversioni evangeliche di Wesley.
Questo bellissimo parco 'segreto' contiene uno splendido memoriale vittoriano all'eroico sacrificio.
Visiteremo il sito di John Bray's House. Una lapide segna dove John e Charles Wesley hanno alloggiato nel 1738/9. Fu qui che Charles fu convertito il 21 maggio 1738 e John dichiarò "Credo" alle 22:00 del 24 maggio 1738.

Passeremo accanto a numerosi monumenti commemorativi, tra cui quello della rivolta dei contadini e il punto in cui gli anglicani furono bruciati sul rogo.
L'ultimo pulpito anglicano messo a disposizione di John Wesley, che ha continuato a predicare qui molto tempo dopo che era stato bloccato da altre chiese di Londra.

Ora casa di una meravigliosa orchestra di Londra, San Luca fu consacrata nel 1733 e questa parrocchia della chiesa comprendeva la Foundery Society di John Wesley, che qui prese la comunione.
Questo incredibile vecchio luogo di riposo per anticonformisti è l'ultima dimora della madre di John Wesley, Susanna, morta il 30 luglio 1742. Altri come William Blake e Daniel Defoe giacciono qui.
John Wesley è stato educato alla Charterhouse School 1714-20 e visiteremo l'antica chiesa in loco.

Kevin is a great guide who is passionate about history and I enjoyed getting to know him and appreciate his wealth of knowledge. I came to understand how God used the Wesley s in the Evangelical Revival. I in awe. May God do it again!
Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining and we throughly enjoyed his stories. Not only did we learn about John Wesley snd family but we had a history lesson about London. It was fabulous!
We took the walking tour in London about John Wesley and the Methodists. Our guide Kevin was absolutely fantastic! He met us at our hotel and we started the tour from there. I feel like I could have been in London on Easter. My life-changing experience has happened to me today! As an American United Methodist I went to England to see the Wesleyan sites to gain a greater understanding of my UMC roots. John Wesley inculcated the many converts with sobriety, clean living, hard work and piety. And including this Wesley College undergraduate too! I was very surprised by famous "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today" hymn associated with Easter written by Charles Wesley. “Jesus Christ is risen today” it brings together the two great themes of Holy Week and Easter, the Cross and the Resurrection and celebrates the message of Holy Week and Easter – Christ crucified and risen. I am truly blessed! Happy Easter!

We absolutely loved our tour! Despite Covid closures, our wonderful guide gave a tour we will always remember. Stephen was punctual, friendly and never made us feel like we were on a tour, more that he was a friend showing us interesting things he had discovered. We learned so many interesting facts about parts of London we would never have found or understood on our own, as well as showing us so many sites about John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. We saw Roman and Medieval ruins into the bargain! We highly recommend and will be seeking out Stephen for our next trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk and tour!

Kevin met us at our hotel and helped us navigate the tube system for the first time! He is a wealth of information and knew the best shortcuts to find significant Wesley sites. We took in a few “on the way” attractions including the Roman Wall and a rooftop view of London near St Paul’s. None of our questions were treated as inappropriate and were answered with a smile.
